Solicitation 36C77623R0009 EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades - St. Louis - FOLLOW-UP Technical Questions
4/6/2023
1. Regarding item 14 of the technical questions. Seems they made a design change with no supporting information. Current drawings and specifications do not call out blown in fiber for side A. We need supporting documents if this is being changed.
a. See specification 27 13 23, 2.2, A. A side fiber does not call out for blown in.
b. See drawings C-600 and C-601. Tube counts are called out for B side but not for A.
c. See building drawings throughout where the TDU is called out for B side but not for A.
ANSWER: I believe this is a misunderstanding. A side fiber replacement will be traditional fiber optic cable.
2. Question #31- Can the contractor be assured normal working hours for interior work on TR Rooms, site improvements for telecom duct bank, and non-cabling work activities?
ANSWER: NO.
3. Question #46 - Is there electrical power in the Laydown are noted in this response?
ANSWER: Power for lights is present in the 255 lot. Nearest power for trailer hookup is Building 18.
4. Questions #85/86 - This question was submitted with expectation of receiving below grade site utilities for a general baseline understanding of what below grade utility locations are present at this campus to ensure contractors have accounted for possible impacts/interferences with excavation for telecom ductbank installations. This information prepares the contractor for potential cost impacts for execution of this work. Can the government provide a site utility plan allowing contractors to determine impacts for excavation?
ANSWER: As I stated, this is delegated to the contractor for gpr confirmation.
5. Question #95 - Can the contractor assume all walls to be removed in the demolition phase are constructed as metal stud framing with drywall as noted in this response for replacement?
ANSWER: Yes
6. Question #100 - If the contractor is to remove FF&E as noted, where are we to place these items, dispose items or place in storage? If storage, where is the storage location?
ANSWER: Contractor is to provide storage for Furniture. Example: A box truck.
