About this file
This is a Maintenance Bond document (00 61 19) for the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, related to Contract #26-00118: Morrisville Borough 2026 CDBG Design/Build Curb Ramp Project. The maintenance bond requires the contractor to guarantee the quality of all materials and workmanship for a period of eighteen (18) months following final completion and acceptance of the work. The bond obligates the contractor and surety to repair or replace any defects that develop during the maintenance period or reimburse the owner for any losses sustained due to the contractor's failure to perform these obligations. The bond amount is set at fifteen percent (15%) of the total agreement price, though the specific dollar amount is not filled in on this template document.
The maintenance bond must be executed by both the contractor as principal and a surety company licensed to do business in Pennsylvania. Authorized representatives from both entities must sign and seal the document, with the requirement that if anyone other than the President or Vice President of the surety company executes the bond, a current certificate of authority must accompany the document. This bond protects the Municipality of Morrisville against defects in the ADA/PennDOT compliant curb ramp design and construction project and ensures contractor accountability throughout the extended maintenance period following project completion.
