UNSPSC 10151700: Grass and forage seeds and seedlings

UNSPSC 10151700 Grass and forage seeds and seedlings, a Class code, encompasses supply and delivery of certified grass seed, specialized seed mixes, and related vegetation establishment materials that state and local governments procure for parks maintenance, grounds restoration, roadway landscaping, erosion control, and athletic field preparation. Recent solicitations show demand for certified perennial ryegrass blends for park overseeding, Argentine Bahia sod and seed for canal bank and levee stabilization, winter grain seeds and terrace seed mixes for highway departments, and specialty grasses for ballfield infield renovation—indicating that "grass and forage seeds and seedlings" in practice spans both raw seed stock and living sod installation services bundled with seeding work.

The issuing-body mix includes county parks departments, municipal public works and parks divisions, state transportation and water management agencies, and special-purpose water districts. Sarasota County Parks, Dane County Highway and Transportation Department, the St. Johns River Water Management District, and the City of Tampa appear as repeat buyers in the recent block. Geographic activity concentrates in Florida, Georgia, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Arizona, and Texas, with sporadic activity elsewhere. Representative recent solicitations include Sarasota County Parks requesting 560 50-pound bags of certified perennial three-way blend overseed (RFQ 2026QQ780, due July 16, 2026), Dane County, Wisconsin seeking grass seed mixes and winter grain seed on an as-needed basis for highway maintenance (RFB 2026RFB009, due February 23, 2026), the St. Johns River Water Management District soliciting Argentine Bahia sod placement on canal levees in Florida (ITB 14930, due February 10, 2026), and the City of Tampa issuing an RFQ for 30 bags of Argentine Bahia Seed (26P00149, due February 18, 2026).
