UNSPSC 10151703: Alfalfa seeds or seedlings

UNSPSC 10151703 Alfalfa seeds or seedlings is a Commodity code that does not align with the recent state and local opportunities tagged under it. The source shows that state and local governments are soliciting wheat grass seed, wheat seed, sorghum sudan grass seed, cotton seed, and soybean seed — none of which are alfalfa products. This mismatch between the code's nominal scope and actual procurement activity suggests the code sees minimal relevant recent usage in state and local procurement.

The few opportunities present span Texas municipalities, Georgia correctional and county agencies, and Kentucky corrections, with no consistent repeat buyers or geographic concentration. The City of Lubbock, Texas has posted multiple seed RFQs in recent months (Jose Wheat Grass Seed and Beardless Wheat Seed VNS, both due July 16, 2026; Sorghum Sudan Grass Seed, due April 1, 2026); Georgia Correctional Industries awarded a cotton seed contract to Triangle Chemical Company for $57,994.00 in March 2026; and the Commonwealth of Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet issued an RFB for soybean seed for Western Kentucky Correctional Complex Farm due March 13, 2026. One unrelated opportunity — DeKalb County's ITB 2026-076-ITB for reconstruction of the DeKalb Tennis Center — is plainly a facilities project and does not represent agricultural seed procurement. The code shows little decision-relevant recent activity in state and local markets.
