SCOPE
This document contains the procedures for performing production/acceptance testing of the Human Machine Interface (HMI) (P/N 456033-1). This procedure includes HMI configuration sheets, equipment connection diagrams, testing instructions, and data sheets.
The HMI contains several sub-systems that are tested independently before integration into the Rack. Subsystems test procedures are not included in this document. This document contains the following sections:
Section 1: General Information
Section 2: Final Test
The figure below illustrates the order of testing.

SECTION 2
FINAL TEST
2.1
PRE-POWER SETUP
The pre-power setup procedure verifies the equipment configuration is correct before beginning the test.
NOTE
ENSURE THAT AC POWER IS NOT CONNECTED ON REAR OF HMI POWER SUPPLY
Figure 2.1-1. HMI Test Set-up
2.2
HMI POWER-UP
1. Disconnect the HMI Drawer Power Supply from the power input connector on the rear of the HMI Drawer. Connect the Power Supply’s AC cord to 115 VAC source. Verify the following voltages between the DC power connecter contacts.
Pin Socket Figure 2.2-1. DC Power Connectors
a) Pin 1 (A1) to Pin 3 (A3) reads +12 V, +/- .6 V.
b) Pin 2 (A2) to Pin 1 (A1) reads 0 V, +.1 V / -0.0V.
c) Pin 2 (A2) to Pin 3 (A3) read 0 V, +.1 V / -0.0V.
Verified:___________
2. On the HMI Drawer power connector, measure between the following pins and ensure there is no continuity: A1→A2, A2→A3, A1→A3.
3. Disconnect AC power from the HMI Drawer Power Supply module. Connect the HMI Drawer Power Supply to the HMI Drawer rear power connector.
2.3
TEST PROCEDURE
This procedure verifies the HMI Drawer operates correctly when AC power is applied.
1. Attach the test computer Keyboard/Trackball cable to the DE-9 serial input connector located on the back of the HMI Drawer (Figure 2.1-1).
2. Attach test computer video cable to the video input connector located on the back of the HMI Drawer (Figure 2.1-1).
3. Lift up the display head and position for operation.
4. Power the unit by pressing the ON/OFF button located on the membrane keypad (above keyboard).
NOTE
The green LED (POWER) located on the front bezel will illuminate if proper power has been applied to the system. The yellow/red LED (STANDBY) will illuminate if the video cable is not attached, or if an invalid video source is connected to the monitor.
5. Verify that the LCD display is functioning.
Verified:___________
6. Operate the trackball and verify that the cursor moves on the screen.
Verified:___________
7. Run the lcddisplay test software on the Test Computer to verify there are no dead areas or defective pixels on the LCD screen.
Open a terminal window on the test computer.
Type “lcdtest” and hit the enter key.
Type “r” and confirm the screen is red.
Type “g” and confirm the screen is green.
Type “b” and confirm the screen is blue.
Type “w” and confirm the screen is white.
Type “k” and confirm the screen is black.
Hit the “escape” key and exit the test.
8. Turn the power OFF to the HMI Drawer.
9. Remove connections from the HMI Drawer to the Test Computer.
