Myakka River State Park – Clay Gully ADA Restroom Additions Sarasota, Florida; Manatee County, Florida
FDEP Agreement #CN225 Proposal for Professional Services
Background and Purpose The purpose of this project is to provide professional engineering and architectural services needed to design the following elements at Myakka River State Park in Sarasota, Florida (Manatee County)
Our understanding of the project is design and permitting services are required for the construction of a new stand-alone ADA compliant restroom building. The Clay Gully restroom is the only public restroom on the northern portion of the day use area in the park. This restroom serves a picnic area, pavilion and playground and the closest truly accessible restroom is located over four (4) miles from this location. The structure was built in 1968 and does not meet current ADA standards. Significant structural components must be re-engineered to improve accessibility and meet compliancy standards.
This Scope and Fee will consider the following Concepts
• Rehab existing restroom to provide two (2) ADA compliant family style restrooms, with no addition
(only internal reconfiguration)
• A standalone site built restroom
• Add on to the existing restroom to provide one (1) ADA compliant family style restroom.
Subtask 1: Topographic Survey

The Topographic Survey provided will be prepared in accordance with the standards of practice set forth by Florida Administrative Code Section 5J-17.050, Section 472.027 of Florida Statutes (includes all above ground improvements within the selected area). All survey information will be tied to the NAD83 horizontal datum and NAVD88 Vertical Datum using GPS techniques. Contours will be drawn to 1’ intervals.
Trees larger than 6” DBH will be located. Any Storm or Sanitary Structures clearly visible at the time of the survey will be located and measured within the topographic Survey task. Lowest adjacent Grades and Finished Floor elevations for the existing structure will be provided.
• Location of underground utilities within depicted area as shown in Figure “A” below.
o Designate and survey underground water, sewer, electric lines within project limits as shown in
Figure “A & B” below o Locates: N/A
Deliverable: The Consultant shall provide one (1) Topographic Survey (.pdf and dwg format) to the Department Project Manager.
