Weeki Wachee - Headspring Erosion Control

Project #61241C

Dear C, For your review, CPH, Inc., has provided a proposal summary and man-hour documentation for the services tasks identified below:

• Creating a Pond Siting Technical Memo based on the correspondence with FDEP

• Additional Survey for proposed pond location.

• Additional efforts performed in the 30% documents/Conceptual Plans phase due to additional direction from FDEP that exceeded the original scope.

• Additional Geotech needed for the proposed pond.

Per FDEP direction, an optional scope and fee was also calculated for areas outside of the park limits to determine the feasibility of routing stormwater runoff inside the park limits to an existing pond south of the parking lot.

In the original Contract and EWA, CPH is tasked with redesigning the Weeki Wachee Park Beach area to alleviate erosion and accommodate stormwater runoff and remove existing pipe within the Park that outfalls into the Spring.

Please review the attached Proposal Summary and deliverables.

Sincerely, Ariel P. Elvambuena

Subtask 16: Geotechnical Engineering Services

Description:

16A North - The purpose of our geotechnical study is to obtain information on the general subsurface conditions at the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park for a proposed pond and existing pond(s). The subsurface materials encountered will then be evaluated with respect to the available project characteristics. In this regard, engineering assessments for the following items will be formulated and documented in a single written engineering report. Our geotechnical report will include:

• Existing USDA Soil Survey and USGS Topographic mapping.

• Soil and groundwater conditions encountered in the borings. General location and description of deleterious materials encountered in the borings which may have an impact on the proposed project. Environmental sampling and testing are not a part of our services.

• Identification of the existing ground water levels and estimated normal seasonal high ground water fluctuations.

• General site preparation recommendations.

• Infiltration rates based on the results of a Double Ring Infiltration (DR/) test. A horizontal infiltration value will be estimated based on correlations from the vertical infiltration rate and soil types encountered. Further, fillable porosity of the soil will be estimated based on the results of the hand auger boring and DR/ test.

The following services will be performed:

• Locate borings in the field and request utility location services from Sunshine811.

• Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings:

Two SPT borings extending to depths of approximately 15 feet below the ground surface will be performed at the north and east locations indicated on the provided site plan.

• Double Ring Infiltration (DR/) tests:

Two DR/ tests will be performed at the location indicated on the provided site plan. The

DR/ tests will be performed approximately 2 feet below the existing ground surface or½ foot above the recorded groundwater level.

• Visually classify and stratify soil samples in the laboratory using the Unified Soil

Classification System and conduct a laboratory testing program on representative samples, as appropriate.

• Stal'l<Ja,"Cl .Oel'letffltiel'I Test (S.OT) bel'fl'lgs:

Deliverable:

• 16A North - The results of the field exploration and engineering analyses will be presented in a written report signed and sealed by a professional engineer specializing in geotechnical engineering.
