About this file

This document is a quick entry guide for the NIST SP 800-171 Assessment Database, version 3.2.13, which is part of the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS). The guide is maintained by the National Security Lab Center (NSLC) at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and is approved for public release with unlimited distribution.

The guide provides step-by-step instructions for users to access and utilize the SPRS application for entering NIST SP 800-171 assessments, which are designed to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in nonfederal systems and organizations. Access to the system requires a "SPRS Cyber Vendor User" role through the PIEE (Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment) platform. Users must first create a header for their Highest Level Owner (CAGE) code if one does not already exist, with each header capable of supporting up to four confidence levels: Basic, Medium, High Virtual, and High On-site. The guide details the process for entering new assessments by selecting "+ Add New Assessment" from the Details View, completing assessment details including assessment date, score, assessing scope, plan of action completion date, system security plan information, and included CAGE codes. Users may edit existing assessments at any time using the pencil icon button. CAGE hierarchy data is imported from the System for Award Management (SAM), with updates typically flowing to SPRS within 48 hours. The document includes screenshots and navigation instructions to facilitate user access and data entry within the SPRS platform.
