About this file
This is a Maintenance Bond document required for the Upper Makefield Township 2026 Road Paving Program in Pennsylvania under Contract #26-00060. The bond obligates the principal contractor and surety to indemnify the township against defects in materials or workmanship for eighteen months following final completion and acceptance of work. The maintenance bond must be executed by both the contractor as principal and an authorized representative of the surety company, with corporate seals affixed by each party. The document requires completion of signature blocks, company identification, and dates of execution.
The maintenance bond is valued at 15 percent of the total agreement price for the road paving program. The bond serves as a guarantee that the contractor will repair and remedy any defects in materials or workmanship that develop during the maintenance period at no additional cost to the obligee, or alternatively, reimburse the township for any losses sustained due to the contractor's failure to perform such repairs. The bond must be accompanied by a current certificate of authority if executed by anyone other than the President or Vice President of the surety company.
