The contractor must remove and dispose of the existing 30-ton bridge crane and associated equipment for a lump-sum price offered in the Price Schedule. Scope includes removal and disposal of used oil, coatings and equipment containing regulated metals, the crane access ladder cage mounted on the South wall of the warehouse, and existing electrical equipment including the conductor rail electrification system and main power disconnect switches. An optional scope item (Optional Price Schedule 2) covers removal and disposal of the 30-ton bridge crane runway rails, including rail clips, nuts, bolts, sole plates, splice bars, and associated hardware. The contractor must comply with hazardous materials handling requirements including asbestos abatement per applicable sections, drain and disposal of oil and brake fluid, and recycling of scrap metal with hazardous coatings. Following equipment removal, the contractor must thoroughly clean and degrease areas by steam vapor or pressure washing while protecting remaining equipment from damage and properly containing and disposing of non-hazardous cleaning waste. Prior to work, the contractor must submit a plan for equipment removal describing required equipment, estimated weights, removal procedures with step-by-step instructions, and a removal schedule. Historical items including manufacturer identification markings and rated load markings must be preserved and coordinated with the Contracting Officer's Representative for storage. The Government will establish clearance and lock-out/tag-out of equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
