About this file
This document includes a test procedure for a portable dynamometer (dyno) and associated power pack assembly, as well as details of a related upcoming federal contract opportunity.
The test procedure outlines steps for inspecting, preparing, and testing a Caterpillar 3126 HEUI engine and Allison transmission power pack assembly on a dyno. It details pre-start, start-up, transmission ECU, and full engine load test checklists and procedures. Key aspects covered include inspecting components, filling fluids, connecting systems, configuring engine and transmission control modules, performing function checks through all gears and speeds, recording horsepower and torque outputs, and disconnecting the assembly after testing. The test aims to validate performance meets specifications before equipment is fielded.
The associated federal contract opportunity notice indicates the US Army plans to issue a sole source, 5-year requirements contract by September 30, 2018 for Stryker vehicle retrofit, reset/refurbishment, and damage repair services. The requirement is source controlled to General Dynamics Land Systems. The services required relate to upgrading, overhauling, and repairing Stryker combat vehicles to like-new condition.
