About this file

This document is Technical Exhibit 06 for the United States Army Garrison Dugway Proving Ground Paving IDIQ Contract, establishing minimum sampling and testing requirements for paving and related materials under the Directorate of Public Works.

The exhibit provides comprehensive sampling and testing specifications across multiple material categories including embankment and borrow materials (02056), lean concrete base course (02712), Utah Treated Base Course (UTBC Types I, II, and III - 02721), microsurfacing (02735), Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA - 02744), Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA - 02741), asphalt materials (02745), Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (02752), pavement marking paint (02765), chip seal coat (02785), open graded surface course (02786), bonded wearing course (02787), and Portland Cement Concrete for structural applications (03055 and 03056). Testing requirements specify lot sizes, sampling frequencies, points of acceptance, and reference standards (primarily AASHTO and ASTM methods). For example, embankment materials require soil classification testing per AASHTO M 145 at one test per lot based on source/soil type or every 20,000 cubic yards, while HMA requires four random samples per production day for asphalt sieve analysis and binder content per AASHTO T 30 and T 308. In-place density testing, thickness measurements, and compressive strength tests are required at specified frequencies based on material type and production quantities. Visual acceptance procedures are provided for small quantities of materials from previously approved sources, with defined maximum lot sizes and daily/project limits. Results are reported to the Materials Database or submitted according to project-specific procedures.
