About this file
This is a technical drawing specification document for hot stack penetration installation through built-up roofing systems. The document provides detailed construction guidance for properly sealing roof penetrations where hot pipes or stacks pass through insulated roof assemblies. The specification outlines the required materials and installation methodology, including sheet-metal sleeves, rain collars, high-temperature sealants, stainless steel clamping rings, and treated wood blocking. Key installation requirements include priming all metal surfaces that will contact the specified adhesive, maintaining minimum 8-inch flange dimensions set in asphalt cement with mechanical fastening at 3-inch on-center spacing, and overlapping the flashing collar by 3 to 4 inches. The document specifies that when hot stack service temperatures exceed 400 degrees, welding or soldering the rain collar to the pipe is required in lieu of installing sealant, and that clearance between the hot pipe and insulated metal liner must be determined based on the temperature of materials handled by the stack.
The specification includes provisions for two-ply stripping at the perimeter and mastic sealing at existing insulated metal liners to ensure proper weatherproofing and thermal protection. No pricing information, set-asides, incumbent contractors, funding sources, or contract term details are provided in this technical drawing document. This appears to be a construction standard or detail sheet intended for use as part of a larger project specification or bid package related to roofing or building envelope work.

NOTES
1. PRIME ALL METAL SURFACES THAT WILL COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE SPECIFIED ADHESIVE.
2. WHEN HOT STACK SERVICE TEMPERATURE EXCEEDS 400 DEGREES, WELD OR SOLDER RAIN COLLAR TO
PIPE IN LIEU OF INSTALLING SEALANT.
3. THE CLEARANCE REQUIRED BETWEEN THE HOT PIPE AND INSULATED METAL LINER WILL DEPEND ON THE
TEMPERATURE OF THE MATERIAL HANDLED BY THE STACK.
