About this file
This document contains a federal contract opportunity notice and related service report. The notice is for base operations support services at Prospect Harbor Space Force Station, a facility transitioning from Navy to Space Force responsibility. Services include facility operation, maintenance, security, communications, logistics, environmental support, and occupational health compliance. The solicitation is expected to release in January 2024 as a 100% small business set-aside best-value tradeoff competition. The report provides details on generator maintenance and repair work at the Station, including part replacement and load testing to address a tripped breaker and belt squealing.

Problem Reported:
Service call for breaker tripping and belt squealing
Problems Found/Repaired:
Checked engine for shunt trip breaker fault and also for belt squealing; scrolled through past event history; the only fault logged in over the last 20 hours of operation is an emergency stop. The only way the emergency stop can be activated is if the emergency stop button is pushed in. This will shunt trip the circuit breaker. The circuit breaker cannot be reset until the emergency stop button is pulled back out. The squealing belt was coming from a misalignment belt pensioner pulley. Installed the new belt and belt pensioner pulley and checked the tension on the belt. Load tested generator set on entire base with load for one hour. Double-checked how the belt was riding on the pulley - all ok Advised the OPS office to keep me advised if everything is not ok.
