OVERVIEW
The Solid-State Phased Array Radar System (SSPARS) program is comprised of six Geographically-Separated Units (GSU) in the Northern Hemisphere. There are four Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR) sites at the following locations: 6th Space Warning Squadron (SWS) at Cape Cod Space Force Station (SFS), MA; 7 SWS at Beale Air Force Base (AFB), CA;
12 SWS at Pituffik Space Base, Greenland, and 13 SWS/213 SWS at Clear SFS, AK. While radar operations are performed by military members assigned to the four GSUs, the contractor performs a radar operator/intelligence support mission at Beale AFB, CA and Cheyenne Mountain SFS, CO.
Royal Air Force (RAF) Fylingdales, United Kingdom (UK) provides Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) support to the UEWR maintained by the United Kingdom contractor.
