COUNT Table Sample.xlsx

This file is a traffic count data sample table maintained by the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) Traffic Engineering Division-Traffic Monitoring Section, documenting historical portable Short Duration Counts (SDCs) and Continuous Count Site (CCS) records for 2024. The spreadsheet contains approximately 434 count records with associated identifiers, station locations, count factors, Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) calculations, count types, count years, and processing timestamps. The data represents counts collected across multiple Maine counties throughout 2024, with collection dates ranging from April through November 2024. Entry and update information is attributed to alexander.hanscom, with most records processed on January 2 and 10, 2025. The count data includes information on various traffic monitoring methodologies, including Type T (traffic) counts at 87 records, Type C (continuous) counts at 347 records, and Type S (special) counts at multiple locations, with factors ranging from 0.62 to 1.01 and AADT values spanning from minimal volumes (10-100 vehicles) to substantial traffic corridors exceeding 20,000 vehicles daily.

This dataset supports MaineDOT's comprehensive traffic monitoring operations and serves as the foundation for the Traffic Count Software as a Service (SaaS) procurement (RFP #202510141), which seeks a cloud-based platform to manage approximately 5,000-7,000 annual portable SDCs, 130+ continuous count sites, and additional specialized monitoring locations. The historical data contained in this file demonstrates the scale and complexity of traffic data MaineDOT manages and will need to be migrated, converted, and integrated into the new SaaS system upon contract award. The sample encompasses data quality attributes, calculation methodologies, HPMS reporting compliance requirements, and multiple count classifications essential for federal and state transportation planning and analysis purposes.
