Class Table Sample.xlsx

This is a Class Table Sample dataset from the Maine Department of Transportation's Traffic Engineering Division, detailing traffic classification data collected at over 10,200 monitoring stations throughout 2024. The file contains annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) counts and vehicle classification information (Classes 1-13) for portable Short Duration Counts (SDCs), Continuous Count Sites (CCSs), and other monitoring locations. Data includes station identifiers, collection dates, directional distribution percentages, peak hour traffic volumes, and total vehicle classifications by type. The dataset encompasses approximately 5,000-7,000 annual portable counts and 130+ continuous count sites, with monitoring occurring throughout the calendar year 2024. Key metrics captured include AADT values ranging from 20 to 23,470 vehicles per day, peak hour identification, directional distribution percentages, and detailed classification of vehicle types from passenger cars to heavy trucks. The data supports the State's federal reporting requirements, including Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) and Traffic Monitoring Analysis System (TMAS) submissions.

The dataset serves as foundational traffic monitoring information for MaineDOT's Traffic Monitoring Section and represents the operational environment for the pending Traffic Count Software as a Service (SaaS) procurement (RFP #202510141). This historical traffic count data, covering the full calendar year 2024, will likely require migration into the new SaaS system selected through the RFP process, which mandates integration with multiple equipment types including Gridsmart, Miovision, Rekor, Currux, and Kistler sensors. The current service provider is Drakewell Inc., and the new contract will require comprehensive data conversion of current and up to ten years of historical traffic count data. The dataset demonstrates the scale and complexity of Maine's traffic monitoring network, which will require the selected vendor to manage quality control, scheduling, reporting, and federal compliance across the entire portfolio of counting locations statewide.
