Technical questions/responses
36C77623B0058 EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades – Construction
Chillicothe, OH
1. Is there an allowance of Cat 6A cables that should be carried within the Division 27 pricing?
Some previous requirements on other projects requested 10-15% additional Cat 6A cables to cover what may have been missed during design.
Project General Notes Item N Sheet T001:
OUTLETS (3-DATA, 1-GANG BOX, 1.25" CONDUIT) FROM EACH SIGNALS CLOSET. OUTLETS TO BE INSTALLED AS DIRECTED BY THE COR BASED UPON EXISTING FIELD CONDITIONS. 10% ADDITIONAL TO BE
OVER AND ABOVE THE OUTLET COUNT FOR EACH TR.
2. Is there an RCDD requirement for project management in Division 27?
NO
3. Within the Telecommunications Floor Plans, there are quite a bit of work area outlets in light gray, are these outlets to remain in place? In the below snapshot you will see light gray symbols as well as dark symbols which usually depicts to remain and new.

A NEW DATA OUTLET WILL BE PROVIDED ADJACENT TO THE EXISTING OUTLET WITH NEW CATEGORY 6A CABLING TO MATCH THE EXISTING DATA CONFIGURATION. EXISTING VOICE ONLY CABLES WILL NOT BE
REPLACED.
4. Are there existing cable trays not shown on the drawings or is it expected that where no cable tray is shown on the Telecommunications drawings j-hooks or other means of cable support are required to be installed?
EXISTING CABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS CABLE TRAYS, WHERE OBSERVED IN THE FIELD DURING THE DESIGN PHASE, HAVE BEEN NOTED ON THE DRAWINGS. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SUPPLEMENTAL CABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS INCLUDING J-HOOKS, CABLE TRAY AND CONDUIT, AS REQUIRED BY THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS.
5. Is the contractor required to install sleeves from primary pathways to secondary pathways to get cables to outlet locations? It is assumed each room with existing telecommunications has an existing sleeve. If existing sleeves are not properly sized or, in the event sleeves do not meet proper firestop ratings how will these be paid for by the government?
THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE SLEEVS THROUGH WALLS/FLOORS AS REQUIRED TO
SUPPORT THE NEW CABLING AND THE PHASING OF THE PROJECT.
6. What size is the existing telecommunications outlets conduits? If they are undersized, what is the remedy and how will these be paid for by the government?

9. The revised combined specs still have significant errors. We published this job to subcontractors today before we could review the new specs. We have had several already mark this job as “Not Bidding” in our bid software, which will make it very difficult to get them back on board. They spent time to download and review specs and see that their section is not present.
Please release a fully correct version of the specifications.

13. Sheet 000-TS100 (Campus Technology Site Plan) has some areas that seem to be marked as dedicated for only one of the A/B routes. One such location is between buildings 28 and 211 it states “B-Loop”. Is this for B-route fiber only, forcing us to bypass this cost-saving pathway for route A and the copper backbone that must be routed with A? See image below.
NO, THIS IS FOR A ROUTE AND B ROUTE. WILL REVISE IN ADDENDUM.
14. On the construction drawings for instance drawing # 001-TA102 There are numerous triangle call outs for data and voice cables. However, there are only a small amount that are highlighted in a darker color. Can the government explain the difference between them. Are only the dark ones to be installed? Are the light-colored ones cables to be removed at completion?

Please advise.
Door schedule is missing in the 100% set.
DOOR SCHEDULE IS ON SHEET AE602 ADDENDUM 2 AND CONTAINS HARDWARE SETS THAT ARE WITHIN
DOOR HARDWARE SPECIFICATIONS.
19. The note "paint walls - refer to finish schedule" appears on some architectural sheets, not all, and in some instances points only to new walls, and in others to existing walls. Can the VA provide broad direction on the intent of painting (e.g. paint only new walls (corner to corner), or paint all walls in rooms that get new walls, or paint all walls in rooms with work)?
REFER TO FINISH SCHEDULE ON SHEET AE602 ADDENDUM 2
20. Some architectural prints use a coded note to indicate new wall base at new walls, but it is missing on many. Please advise if ALL new walls are to receive new base, from corner to corner, regardless of whether coded note is indicated.
REFER TO FINISH SCHEDULE ON SHEET AE602
21. 007-AE101 has multiple inconsistencies. Coded notes 1, 3, & 7 (floor, ceiling, and wall base removal) are used in 108G, but there is no other work in this room. The wall between 108D and 108G is dashed on the demo RCP, but not on the demo plan; per the new plan there's no new wall here. This wall also shows wall base removal on the 108D side with no replacement indicated. This wall is not dashed on the demo plan, but coded note 2 indicates to demo this wall. There is no note confirming the demolition of the dashed wall. Door 108D is shown grey on the new work plan, however, it can't be existing. The Door Schedule also indicates this door exists. Coded note 6 is shown twice on one dark line, and not at all on the other; the assumption is there are two new plywood panels, but clarification with correctly drawn coded notes and arrows would ensure a level playing field for all bidders. This is one example of the inconsistencies that appear on multiple plans. We request the Architect revisit all plans and make corrections.
REFER TO BID DOCUMENTS – 100% SET. ONLY ROOMS 108D and 108E ARE AFFECTED.
22. The Finish Schedule on AE601 is a Material Schedule. Will you provide a Finish Schedule that details where these finishes are to be used by room number?
FINISH SCHEDULE IS ON SHEET AE602 ADDENDUM 1
23. The door schedule does not reflect the scope of work for some of the rooms (e.g. Drawing 027- AE101.1 Room 168 Demo note 3 indicates to remove and replace frame and lockset as required for card reader. However, Door schedule AE601 indicates new door and frame for room 168, please clarify if the door schedule alone is accurate and complete to use for pricing?

66. According to the specifications 27 10 00 – 2 there needs to be either a 12 or 24 strand multi mode fiber from the main MDA to each HAD is this for the data center? Which is preferred 12 or 24?
THERE SHOULD BE (1) 24 STRAND MULTIMODE AND (1) 12 STRAND SINGLE MODE FOR SIDE A AND SIDE B.
67. IN specs 27 10 00 – 3 it calls for (2) 24 fiber multimode and (1) 12 strand single mode from entrance room to each TR for A side and redundant path for B side. Is it supposed to be (2) 24 strand multimode and (1) 12 strand single mode per room or (2) 24 strand multimode and (1) 12 strand single mode per A Side and (2) 24 strand multimode and (1) 12 strand single mode per B side? Since multiple TR’s are receiving fiber form bldg. 18 assume the TR’s on the lowest level of each bldg. where the fiber enters the bldg. will be the entrance rooms for both A and B would this be correct?
TRS IN BLDG 18 SHALL RECEIVE 24 STRAND OM4 AND (2) 12 STRAND OS1 FOR A SIDE AND B-SIDE.
68. Will fiber runner tray be needed in the buildings in the TR’/ rooms? Will it be needed in the hall spaces or is it just for the Data center as it usually is? Is there a drawing showing the fiber runner tray layout?
DUE TO LIMITED CEILING HEIGHT, DATA CENTER WILL USE LADDER RUNWAY SYSTEM ABOVE CABINETS
IN DATA CENTER IN LIEU OF FIBER RUNNER TRAY.
69. If it is decide all new cabling is needed would it be ok to color code UTP Cat 6A cables, jacks, and patch cords per system? White-Voice, Blue – Data, Green -Cameras, Yellow – AP’s?
VA COLOR CODE FOR THIS STATION IS TO USE BLUE AND YELLOW FOR DATA (BLUE – DATA 1 , YELLOW – DATA 2), THERE WILL NOT BE ANY NEW ANALOG VOICE, PUPRLE FOR SECURITY. GREEN FOR WAP. FINAL
COLOR CODING WILL BE COORDINATED WITH OIT DURING CABLE SUBMITTAL PHASE.
70. Can we get more information on the rack mount 25 pair primary protectors shown on the TR drawings for the entrance rooms? Used to lightning protection with fuses mounted on the wall and a 25 pair run from there to the rack and terminated on a patch panel with RJ – 45 ports
REFER TO ATTACHED VA CAMPUS COPPER BACKBONE WHITE PAPER FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
71. Will there need to be 25 pair copper feeds between the TR’s in each building?
NO.
72. In Building 1 Volume 3 drawings shows TRs 179 and 284B are the TR’s the Technology drawings shows 178 and 283 as the TR’s which is correct?
THE TR ROOMS ARE 179 AND 284A WHICH ARE CORRECTED ON THE 100% BID SET.
73. Volume 3 technology drawings show (2) OS2 SM 24 fibers and (1) 25 pair coming up each chase, Volume 3 part 3 drawings 000-TN400 only shows (1) 24 os2 to each comm room. Which is correct? The specs call out (2) 24 mm fibers and (1) 12 os1 fiber between TR’s but there is not a drawing reflecting what is needed in the buildings for each TR as far as copper and fiber go.
EACH INTER-BUILDING TR RECEIVES TWO (2) 24 STRAND OS2 (ONE FOR SIDE A, ONE FOR SIDE B) AND
25-PAIR COPPER.
EACH INTRA-BUILDING TR RECEIVES TWO (2) 24 STRAND OM4 (ONE FOR SIDE A, ONE FOR SIDE B) AND
TWO (2) 12 STRAND OS1 (FOR SIDE A AND SIDE B) AND 25-PAIR COPPER.
74. On the drawings in Volume 3 Part 1 and 2 there is ladder tray sporadically placed along the halls, is this what we need to install, or do we need to install full lengths of halls as there are cables located where there is not any ladder tray? Nothing else is called out for these cables.
THE FLOOR PLANS INDICATE EXISTING CABLE TRAY WHERE OBSERVED DURING FIELD INVESTIGATIONS.
NEW SECTIONS OF CABLE TRAY (12” X 4” WIRE MESH UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED) HAVE BEEN
INDICATED AS SUPPLEMENTAL PATHWAYS. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ADDITIONAL
SUPPLEMENTAL PATHWAYS (J-HOOKS, CONDUIT) AS MAY BE REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE
INSTALLATION IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE PROJECT MANUAL.
75. Looking at where the comm rooms are moving to and the ones that are expanding, there will be cables that will not reach the new location. Will these need to be a change order as we come to them? Would it make more sense to pull new cables and if there is 1” conduit in place, take the faceplates off and leave them functional, pull the new cable in terminate and test, once they are ready to cut them over, take the old cables out and put the new cables in the faceplate and bring them up? If the conduit is smaller then pull the old cables out and let them hang, re-terminate and bring back up until new cables are ready to be cut over?
THE IDEA IS TO KEEP EVERYONE UP AND FUNCTIONING DURING THE CONSTRUCTION, HOWEVER, AT SOME POINT THE EXISTING CABLES WILL NEED TO MOVE TO THE NEW LOCATION, AND ONCE THAT TAKES PLACE FUNCTIONALITY IS LOST, AS CABLES WILL NEED TO BE REPULLED. SHORT CABLES WILL HAVE TO BE PULLED BACK TO OLD LOCATION AND BROUGHT BACK UP AND RUNNING UNTIL THE NEW CABLE IS IN PLACE AND FUNCTIONING, OR THE STATIONS WILL HAVE TO GO DOWN UNTIL THE CHANGE ORDERS ARE APPROVED PULLED, TERMINATED, TESTED, AND BROUGHT BACK UP. NOTE:
SHORT EXISTING CABLES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE IDENTIFIED UNTIL WORK IS BEING PERFORMED IN
THE TRS.
76. Some of these comm rooms show an existing camera that needs to be relocated to a new location, however, they are not showing in a new location. Where do these need to be relocated to? Volume 3 Parts 1 and 2 comm room drawings.
CAMERA LOCATIONS WITHIN TRs WILL BE FIELD VERIFIED WITH OIT. THE INTENT IS TO HAVE A FIELD OF
VIEW THAT COVERS THE ENTRANCE TO THE ROOMS.
77. In Volume 3 part 1 drawings 001-TA102 and 001-T405 TR 284B are shown as being reworked with new rack, cable tray, etc. In Volume 3 part 3 drawings 001-TN102 It appears that 284B is being relocated to room 283. Is 283 going to be the new comm room in place of 284B or is 283 just going to be a pass- through room to 284B? There is not any conduit connecting the 2 rooms if 283 is just a pass-through room. If the TR moves to 283 will the existing short cables need to be replaced?
THE TR SHOWN ON 001-TA102 ROOM 284A IS THE CORRECT LOCATION FOR THE NEW TR.
78. Is the contractor furnishing and installing all new rack mounted ups’s and power strips or pdu’s, or is government?
ALL ITEMS ARE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED BY THE CONTRACTOR.
79. In Volume 3 part 1 Drawing 003-TA101 there is a note 2 detail in several locations but there is not a note 2 at the top under plan notes. What is needed to happen at these locations? There is a note 1 under plan notes at the topbut those locations are not identified on the drawing. Are there any note 1 locations that are supposed to be on the drawings?
ADDENDUM TO CLARIFY, PLAN NOTE 2 – OUTLETS TO BE INSTALLED IN EXISTING POWER POLE.
80. In Volume 3 part 1 drawing 009-TA101 Plan note 1 shows as mounted on concrete ceiling. The device shows it is existing and no work to be performed. Is there supposed to be work at this location since there is a note there?
ALL OUTLETS ARE BEING RE-CABLED. EXISTING OUTLETS WILL HAVE A NEW BOX/CONDUIT INSTALLED ADJACENT TO EXISTING OUTLET AND NEW CABLING INSTALLED IN THAT OUTLET, PRIOR TO DEMOLITION
OF EXISTING CABLING.
81. In Volume 3 part 1 drawing 009-TA101 shows a new outlet on the exterior wall. Is electrical installing conduit or flex and cutting in a box in this location? Will short cables need to be replaced or abandoned?

EVERY DATA OUTLET SHOWN WHETHER GRAYED OR DARK ARE TO BE RECABLED. THE DARK DATA
OUTLETS ARE IN A NEW LOCATION REQUIRING A BOX, FLEX, OR CONDUIT, PORTS, PLATES ALONG WITH
CABLES.
83. In volume 3 part 1 drawing 009-TA-102 it shows TR 210 is being demolished and abandoned.
What about the existing cables on this floor? Will they all need to be replaced to the new comm room on 1st Floor as they will be short? There may be length issues with the new cables on the opposite side of the building from the New TR. Will TR 210 be used as a pass-through for cabling to get down to the new TR on the 1st floor? Or is the entire 2nd floor being abandoned and everything is being fully removed?
ALL EXISTING OUTLETS ARE BEING RE-CABLED. WHERE NEW TRs ARE IDENTIFIED, NEW CABLING IS RUN TO THE NEW TR. WHERE EXISTING TRs ARE BEING MODIFIED, NEW CABLING IS RUN TO THE REVISED LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
84. In volume 3 part 1 drawing 018-TA100 where is the TR on the basement level or does the new drop need to be pulled up to the 1st level? If it does need to be pulled to TR on 1st floor is there a chase somewhere to get the cable up to the 1st floor?
BASEMENT STATION CABLING IS ROUTED TO TR-115 ON 1ST FLOOR. ADDENDUM TO INCLUDE NEW 4”
SLEEVES THROUGH FLOOR IN 115 TO SERVE NEW CABLING.
85. In volume 3 part 1 drawing 018-TA100 on the 1st floor there is a note one pointing to existing outlets. Is there work that needs to be performed at these locations as they are showing as existing? There is also a note for data drops from ceiling but also pointing to existing locations.
Is there work that needs to be performed at these locations?
ALL OUTLETS ARE BEING RE-CABLED. EXISTING OUTLETS WILL HAVE A NEW BOX/CONDUIT INSTALLED ADJACENT TO EXISTING OUTLET AND NEW CABLING INSTALLED IN THAT OUTLET, PRIOR TO DEMOLITION
OF EXISTING CABLING.
86. In volume 3 part 1 drawing 018-TA100 on the 2nd floor with TR210 moving to a new location will short cables need to be repulled to new TR location?
87. Will electrical be performing all core drilling inside buildings and outside buildings? Am assuming they are since they are furnishing and installing All conduit for inside buildings and need to penetrate too outside. This way 2 trades are not quoting the same thing.
TO BE DETERMINED BY THE GC.
88. In Volume 3 part 1 drawing 020-TA101 with TR 206 relocating to the mezzanine with the cables that are showing as existing on the drawings need to be replaced to the new TR location in the mezzanine or to TR 105?

LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
91. In volume 3 part 1 building 24 first floor drawings there is a note for systems furniture around existing cables. Is there supposed to be work at this location as these are showing as existing?
ALL OUTLETS ARE BEING RE-CABLED. EXISTING OUTLETS WILL HAVE A NEW FURNITURE SYSTEM FACEPLATE INSTALLED ADJACENT TO EXISTING OUTLET AND NEW CABLING INSTALLED IN THAT OUTLET, PRIOR TO DEMOLITION OF EXISTING CABLING.
92. In volume 3 part 1 building 25 drawings, with TR 11C combining in the space behind it to create TR 102D. Rack will be moving back so will short existing cables need to be replaced if any, as drawing does not show any cable locations but does show offices? Counts will be hard to get without this information.
LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
93. In Volume 3 part 1 building 26 drawings, with TR10 being abandoned and TR 27A being abandoned, assume TR 27A cables will reach in TR 27 however, will TR 10 cables need to be replaced as they will be short to reach TR 27. There are not any cable locations showing at this time but there are offices. Counts will be hard to get without this information.
PROVIDE THE EQUIPMENT INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS FOR THE TR259. CABLING FOR THAT FLOOR IS
BEING COVERED UNDER A SEPARATE PROJECT.
94. In volume 3 part 1 building 26 drawings is TR 133 on 1st floor new? If so, where will the cables need to come from to route to this NEW TR location? There are not any existing drops showing on this drawing but there are offices so counts will be hard to get without this information.
LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
95. In Volume 3 part 1 building 26 drawings, it appears that TR 230 is being demolished and abandoned. Assuming these will need to relocate to TR 200A. Is this correct? Will short existing cables need to be replaced? There are not any existing cables reflected on the drawings. It will be hard to get counts without this information.
96. In volume 3 part 1 building 26 drawings it shows new work for TR 259 but they are empty as nothing is going in this room. Is this correct?
97. In volume 3 part 1 building 27 drawings on the basement level it show a note 1 at a reception area but all locations are showing as existing. Is there supposed to be work performed at these locations?
LOCAITIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.

LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
99. In volume 3 part 1 building 27 drawings on the 2nd floor with TR 209 (or 208) its one number on the drawing and the other number on the TR detail drawings, with this TR being abandoned assuming the existing cables will need to be relocated to either TR 235 or TR 271. Which TR will they need to relocate to? Will short existing cables need to be replaced?
LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs. New TR will be RM 271.
100. In volume 3 part 1 Building 28 drawings with TR 013D being abandoned where will the existing cables need to be relocated to? There is only a basement level and 2nd floor drawing and not a 1st floor. Will current TR 13D be used as a chase up to either the 1st or 2nd floor TR or is there another way to get the cables upstairs?
Will short cables need to be replaced? There is also not a drawing for TR 13A if the cables need to relocate to this TR?
TR 201 WILL BE THE SINGLE TR FOR BUILDING 28
TO THE NEW TR. WHERE EXISTING TRs ARE BEING MODIFIED, NEW CABLING IS RUN TO THE REVISED LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
101. Can an extension be granted on the bid date? There are issues in the majority of the buildings that will need to be addressed prior to putting together an accurate materials list, and to be able to maintain 100 % functionality as requested by the government. If it is decided cables will need to be replaced (all new or just short existing), Many floors in many buildings are missing drop locations and the counts will not be accurate.
AMENDMENT 0004 EXTENDED BID DUE DATE TO 12/04/2023.
102. In Volume 3 part 1 & 2 Building 30 drawings with TR 8F basically converting to a security room with cables relocating to TR 8E, will short cables need to be replaced?

LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
104. In volume 3 part 1 & 2 with TR 126 being abandoned and moved into TR 127 more parts are coming out of TR 126 than are going into TR 127 there won’t be enough materials to support both TR 126 and TR 127 cables. With drawings missing drop locations will be hard to plan counts to be able to install enough racks and patch panels. Will the short cables need to be replaced as well?
UPCOMING ADDENDUM WILL REVISE FOR A SECOND FULL RACK IN THE NEW TR, INCLUDING DUAL
CIRCUIT PDU.
105. In Volume 3 part 2 building 30 drawings assuming there is not any work being performed in TR 223A as the space is showing empty. TR 25 appears to be become abandoned and cables moved into 226. There are not enough materials moving into 226 to support 25 and 226. Will the short cables need to be replaced as well? Not all drop locations are shown so count will be hard to get without this information.
LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
106. In volume 3 part 2 building 31 basement the notes are showing at existing locations, Is there work that needs to be performed at these locations? Would it be correct to assume all new cables on this level route to the 1st floor?
107. In volume 3 part 2 building 31 TR 210 drawings more patch panels are coming out than going back in. Do we need to account for all cables or are some going away?
CLOSET ASSIGNMENTS ARE BEING REVISED AS PART OF THE RE-CABLING EFFORT. NEW ASSIGNMENTS
HAVE CHANGED THE DESNITY ALLOCATION OF CABLING.
ALL EXISTING OUTLETS ARE BEING RE-CABLED. WHERE NEW TRs ARE IDENTIFIED, NEW CABLING IS RUN
108. In volume 3 part 2 building 31 drawings ground floor, G322A abandons and so does G328, assuming both of these TRs need to be rerouted to G345G will short cables need to be replaced? There are also not enough materials figured in to going into G345G to support the 3 TRs.

111. In volume 3 part 2 building 31 drawings with TR 1-110B being abandoned and cables being relocated to TR 242Y there doesn’t appear to be any cables in the TR 1-110B area. Are there to be cables in this area? Am assuming so since conduit and pull boxes are being installed between the 2 spaces.
112. In volume 3 part 2 building 31 drawings 2nd and 3rd floor and TR 2-203 and TR G-207A drawings with TR 2-203 being abandoned and moving into TR G- 207A it doesn’t appear enough material is being installed to support the cables. Assuming 3rd floor cables down to the 2nd floor will all short cables need to be replaced?
LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
UPCOMING ADDENDUM TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PATCH PANELS IN RACK ELEVATION, AND CONDUIT
SLEEVE THROUGH FLOOR TO ROUTE 3RD FLOOR CABLING.
113. In Volume 3 Parts 1, 2, & 3 do all trays in hallways need to be tied together? There appears to be gaps in trays, so some notes are not clear when they are showing existing and/or new and there are gaps in the pathways.
TRAYS ARE SEPARATED WHERE FIELD OBSERVASTION INDICATES STRUCTURE/UTILITES WILL NOT ALLOW CONTINUOUS CABLE TRAY. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SUPPLEMENT CABLE MANAGEMENT
(J-HOOKS, CONDUIT) FOR ROUTING OF CABLING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECT MANUAL.
114. In volume 3 part 2 building 35 will short cables on all levels need to be replaced? Seems to be less materials going back into these comm rooms than what came out. May not be enough to support cable counts.
LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.

On the 1st and 2nd floors 2 TR’s are going away and combining into 1 center TR. There isn’t enough material going in to either of those TR’s to support that much cabling. Will the short cables on each floor need to be replaced?
Won’t know counts until performing the work unless all new cabling is going to be required.
Will additional ladder tray need to be installed as they are not shown to get cables to the new TRs?
LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
DOCUMENTS SHOW CORRECT QUANTITY OF PATCH PANELS PER CABLE COUNTS OF OUTLETS BEING
RECABLED.
118. In Volume 3 part 2 Building 211 what is coming out of the TR’s doesn’t match up to what is going back in the TR’s on all floors, not enough to support cables in place. TRs 133 and 139 appear to be abandoned and those cables will need to be relocated to TR 108A. Not enough to support these cables. Will the short cables need to be replaced? Same with TRs 168 (being abandoned and relocating to TR 198A) Will the short cables need to be replaced?

ALL EXISTING OUTLETS ARE BEING RE-CABLED. WHERE NEW TRs ARE IDENTIFIED, NEW CABLING IS RUN TO THE NEW TR. WHERE EXISTING TRs ARE BEING MODIFIED, NEW CABLING IS RUN TO THE REVISED LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
123. In volume 3 parts 1, 2, and 3 where the comm rooms are relocating to another location, there won’t be a way to maintain 100% functionality with existing cables coming up short and having to replace. The only way to maintain 100% functionality is to pull all new cable and put into place at the locations and leave the existing up and running until the new is cut over. The existing will have to be handled with change orders as the counts can be retrieved during the move. More information is needed so we can maintain 100% functionality per the government’s request.
LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
124. In volume 3 parts 2 & 3 building 212 2nd floor with TR225 shifting will the short cables need to be replaced?

ALL EXISTING OUTLETS ARE BEING RE-CABLED. WHERE NEW TRs ARE IDENTIFIED, NEW CABLING IS RUN TO THE NEW TR. WHERE EXISTING TRs ARE BEING MODIFIED, NEW CABLING IS RUN TO THE REVISED LOCATIONS WITHIN THE EXISTING TRs.
129. What work will have to be performed outside of normal business hours? (Nights and Weekends).
Assuming new duct bank work, backbone pulls between buildings, terminating back bone cables, conduit installation, installation of pathways outside TRs, and cable pulls to outside rooms/departments demo of TRs and removing not needed items can be completed during business hours. Assuming any drilling, core drilling, conduit installation, pulling cables into rooms/departments, testing, cutovers/patching, TR buildouts and shifting of TRs will have to be completed after hours. Or can it all be completed during normal business hours?
NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS WOULD NEED TO BE COORDINATED FOR WORK IN BUILDINGS 27 AND 31 AS
THESE ARE BUILDINGS THAT OUR OUTPATIENT AREAS ARE LOCATED. THIS WOULD ALLOW OUR
VETERANS ACCESS TO THEIR APPOINTMENTS DURING THE DAY AND CONTRACTORS ACCESS TO
PERFORM CONTINUOUS WORK AFTER-HOURS.
130. Will weekends be available to complete the work? Can we work longer hours during the week?
COORDINATION CAN BE WORKED OUT FOR THIS.
131. Will we need an escort? Will IT be involved with the cutovers, and patching portions?
DURING WORK IN ACTIVE TRS AND THE DATA CENTER AN ESCORT WILL BE REQUIRED. WE CAN PROVIDE 3-4 TR ESCORTS DAILY. OIT WILL PROVIDE DATA CENTER ESCORTS. OIT WAN AND LAN TEAMS WILL BE
INVOLVED FOR CUTOVERS.
132. In Attachment 19 Volume 3 Part 4 Drawing Number 026-TN101 is off the page and covering the notes. Can this be repositioned and reissued?
SHEET WILL BE RE-ISSUED IN AN ADDENDUM
133. Due to all the parts and pieces involved in this project with each of the phases, can we get an extension to make sure all the parts are fully covered?
Push the bid date out a couple of weeks, so we make sure we cover all the work for each building?
AMENDMENT 0004 EXTENDED THE BID DUE DATE TO 12/04/2023.
134. In Attachment 18 Volume 3 Part 3 Drawing Number 000-TS100 there are gaps in the loop labeling, so we have put a drawing together to submit for approval as to if this is what the end user is asking for. If what we submitted for approval is not correct can we get a more exact of what the end user is looking for.
