About this file
This solicitation concerns a construction project to upgrade telecommunications infrastructure at the VA Medical Campus in Leavenworth, Kansas. The scope of work involves replacing the cabling in multiple buildings on campus, including installing CAT6A copper cabling for network connectivity and OM4 and OS2 fiber optic cabling for intra-building and inter-building connections. An additional 15% capacity over current needs must be provided. The project also requires adding new computer room air conditioning systems, electrical panels, backup generators, and a new 600-ton water cooled chiller to service new telecom rooms. The awarded contractor will be responsible for removing existing cabling and installing new cabling one-for-one to replace existing circuits, terminating and labeling all cables, supplying and installing patch panels and patch cables, and providing documentation. The work must not disrupt current telecommunications services and some areas require special precautions while working in active telecom spaces. The soliciting agency is the Department of Veterans Affairs Technology Acquisition Center located in Austin, Texas.
