EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Schneider Electric Services perform BLDG 29 Power distribution Transformers PM in accordance with project specification and applicable industry standard located at VA Campus 2002 Holcombe

Blvd Houston, Texas 77030. The site contact for this project was Joe Ceasar of VA Medical Center

Electrical Power Distribution Department (713)806-7506.

PT-12 BLDG 29 Transformer

We were not able to pull oil samples on the power distribution transformer due to transformer being under vacuum/ negative pressure and transformer not equipped with a fill port for nitrogen filling. Schneider electric service highly recommends installing nitrogen fill port on all the liquid filled transformer and run an external piping that will allow the transformer oil sampling while the transformer is still energized. This will eliminate having a power outage for transformer oil sampling.

Transformer excitation current did not conform to a known pattern. This may be due to the core being magnetized during dienergization. With the limited time, it was not enough to allow the magnetism to dessipate before any electrical testing is performed. However the TTR and winding resistance test results are all acceptable which proved that the transformer winding are in good, acceptable condtions.

BLDG 29 Fire Pump ATS Breaker

Fire pump breaker failed operate during secondary injection test. Schneider Electric Service

Recommends that the ATS breaker will need to be replaced. The circuit breaker may not operate during a fault codition which could result to a costly repair and injury to personel.

FRANK™ Message 2 (Good) - For this transformer, the upper % power factor limit for a "G" rating is 1.0 and the upper % power factor limit before an "I" rating is 1.5

The humidity is high, equal to or more than 70%. This may cause the watts and power factor to be higher than usual on your tests. If you compare sets of duplicate apparatus (arresters, bushings, live tank breakers) and one alone shows a high power factor, consider it suspect. but if all three duplicates all have high power factors, it may be due to the factor common to them all, the high humidity. Clean and dry, using heat if necessary, for better results.

3 (Good) - All values are acceptable.

6 (Good) - All values are acceptable.

8 (Good) - All values are acceptable.
