About this file
This is a maintenance schedule document for Precision Sweeping Services detailing the operational framework for maintaining street sweeping equipment and attenuator trucks in support of the State of Arizona Department of Transportation's mechanical street sweeping services procurement for the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, covering Maricopa County and Phoenix City. The document outlines comprehensive maintenance protocols encompassing daily inspections and cleaning, weekly lubrication and safety verification, and monthly diagnostic checks. Routine maintenance activities include fluid leak inspections, component wear assessment, conveyor and filter cleaning, tire and brake checks, and daily vehicle condition reports completed by operators. The document specifies anticipated maintenance intervals at three levels: minor service every 250 to 500 operating hours for oil changes and safety checks; intermediate service every 1,000 operating hours for brake and tire inspections; and major service every 2,000 operating hours for engine diagnostics and system overhauls. Additional maintenance requirements include pre-season inspections to verify coolant levels, battery performance, and hydraulic system integrity, along with annual comprehensive overhauls assessing vehicle structure and sweeping mechanism condition.
The document indicates that Precision Sweeping Services maintains in-house repair capacity for routine servicing and intermediate repairs, including brake replacements, filter changes, and minor hydraulic repairs, supported by staff with extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems and heavy engine and transmission repair. Complex repairs such as engine overhauls, transmission issues, and major electrical troubleshooting are outsourced to certified service providers specializing in heavy-duty municipal equipment. The contractor operates three fully equipped service trucks stocked with essential tools and onboard compressors to enable prompt field response and minimize equipment downtime. No specific pricing terms, set-aside designations, incumbent information, funding amounts, or contract duration details are provided in this maintenance schedule document.

Maintenance Schedule for Street Sweeping Equipment and Attenuator Trucks
The internal shop staff at Precision Sweeping Services brings extensive experience in maintaining and repairing street sweeping equipment and attenuator trucks. Our team is highly skilled in everything from routine maintenance—such as parts replacement and fluid changes— to major overhauls, including engine and transmission rebuilds. With advanced fabrication capabilities, we can manufacture custom parts in-house to keep our fleet running efficiently.
Additionally, our three fully equipped service trucks—each stocked with essential tools and an onboard compressor—allow us to respond promptly to any mechanical issues that arise in the field, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational reliability.
Routine Maintenance Activities
1. Daily Inspections and Cleaning:
• Conduct visual inspections for fluid leaks, worn components, and safety hazards.
• Clean conveyor systems, filters, radiators and brooms to ensure optimal performance.
• Check tires, safety lights, brakes, and hydraulic systems for functionality.
• Sweeper operators and attenuator drivers must complete daily vehicle condition reports for both pre and post trip inspections to document equipment condition and identify any issues.
• All equipment goes through a wash bay for daily washing, greasing of bearings, and a third daily equipment inspection for added assurance.
2. Weekly Maintenance Tasks:
• Lubricate moving parts and joints to prevent wear.
• Inspect belts, hoses, and connections for signs of deterioration.
• Verify proper operation of safety features, including warning lights and attenuator deployment systems.
• Check and replace gutter brooms and/or main broom as needed due to wear and tear, ensuring optimal sweeping performance.
• Inspect hydraulic system, hydraulic hoses, and bearings for signs of wear, leaks, or deterioration, and replace components as necessary.
3. Monthly Maintenance Tasks:
• Perform diagnostic checks on engine, transmission, and electrical systems.
• Inspect and replace filters (air, fuel, hydraulic) as needed.
• Conduct detailed inspection of sweeping mechanisms or attenuator structures to ensure efficiency and safety.

Anticipated Maintenance Intervals
1. Minor Service
• (Oil changes, filter replacements, safety checks) – every 250 to 500 operating hours.
2. Intermediate Service
• (Brake and tire inspections, hydraulic system evaluation) – every 1,000 operating hours.
2. Major Service
• (Engine diagnostics, structural reinforcements, sweeping system overhauls) – every 2,000 operating hours.
Capacity for Major Repairs
• In-house repairs: Routine servicing and intermediate repairs, including brake replacements, filter changes, and minor hydraulic repairs, will be handled internally.
Shop staff possess extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems, heavy engine and transmission repair and replacement. If deemed appropriate, most timely, and in the best interest of the contract, Precision Sweeping’s shop can handle major repairs internally.
• External service providers: Complex repairs such as engine overhauls, transmission issues, and major electrical troubleshooting will be outsourced to certified service providers specializing in heavy-duty municipal equipment.
Seasonal and Annual Maintenance
• Pre-Season inspections – Verify coolant levels, battery performance, and insulation of hydraulic systems to withstand cold temperatures.
• Annual Overhaul – Comprehensive review of vehicle structure, engine performance, and sweeping/attenuation mechanisms to assess wear and schedule replacements as needed.
