About this file
This is a Construction Facilities and Temporary Controls specification section (01 50 00) for a demolition project in Horsham Township, Pennsylvania, specifically the 234 McKean Road Demolition project. The specification establishes contractor responsibilities for temporary site management including barriers, fencing, water control, dust control, access roads, parking, and progress cleaning throughout the construction phase. Key requirements include providing a 6-foot-high fence around the construction site equipped with vehicular gates and locks, maintaining excavations free of water through grading and pumping equipment, implementing dust control measures through sprinkling or approved methods, and maintaining the site in clean and orderly condition with weekly debris removal. The contractor must provide temporary electricity, lighting, and security for the work area, protect existing facilities and landscaped areas from damage, maintain access to Montgomery Township Public Works buildings, and manage construction vehicle mud removal before street entry. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 1100 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, Pennsylvania, with bid submissions due by September 9, 2025.
The project scope encompasses demolition of an existing residential home, detached garage, two sheds, and an asphalt driveway, along with capping a domestic water well and abandoning the sanitary service line at the main. All disturbed areas must be graded to match surrounding topography and permanently stabilized, with temporary restoration of an existing stream crossing damaged by previous flooding. Cost responsibilities are assigned to the contractor for temporary electricity, with all temporary utilities, equipment, and facilities to be removed prior to final payment inspection and all damage caused by temporary installations to be repaired. The specification does not identify explicit pricing terms, set-asides, or funding sources within the document itself, though the broader solicitation indicates requirements for performance bonds, payment bonds, prevailing wage compliance, and public works employment verification.
