About this file

This is a Maintenance Bond document for Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania in connection with the 2026 CDBG Design/Build Curb Ramp Project (Contract #26-00117). The maintenance bond is required to be furnished by the contractor and must equal 15 percent of the total agreement price. The bond indemnifies Bristol Borough against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of eighteen months following final completion and acceptance of work. During the maintenance period, the contractor is obligated to repair and remedy any defects in materials or workmanship at its own expense, or alternatively, reimburse the borough for all losses and damages sustained due to the contractor's failure to perform these obligations. The bond requires execution by both the contractor as principal and a surety company, with signatures from authorized representatives of each party and their respective corporate seals.

The document serves as a standard form maintenance bond within the context of a comprehensive curb ramp infrastructure project involving ADA/PennDOT compliant design and construction, sidewalk and curbing work, and sign relocation/installation throughout Bristol Borough. The bond is a federal requirement tied to the project's Community Development Block Grant funding and represents a financial guarantee mechanism to protect the municipality's interests beyond the initial construction completion. The specific dollar amount of the bond is to be inserted based on the final contract value, and any person other than the President or Vice President of the surety company executing the bond must provide current certification demonstrating authority to execute the instrument on behalf of the surety company.
