UNSPSC 70100000: Fisheries and aquaculture

UNSPSC 70100000 Fisheries and aquaculture, a Family code, sees minimal recent state and local procurement activity aligned with its nominal scope. The code's definition—capture, processing, or sale of fish and aquatic products—does not match the opportunities posted under it in recent months. A review of the most recent state and local contract opportunities tagged to this code reveals no solicitations for fishing vessels, aquaculture operations, seafood processing, hatchery management, or related fisheries services. The single substantive opportunity appearing in the recent record—a loan portfolio management RFP from the City of St. Petersburg for affordable housing programs—bears no relationship to fisheries or aquaculture work and appears to be a coding mismatch in the state or local procurement system.

The code shows no current demand signal. State and local governments do not appear to be actively soliciting fisheries or aquaculture goods and services under this classification during the July 2026 posting cycle. Analysts should verify whether fisheries and aquaculture procurement activity is negligible in the state and local market or whether issuing bodies are applying different codes to these opportunities; in either case, this code presents no near-term business development opportunity.
