1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.6 SUBMITTALS
A. In accordance with Section 013300.
B. Product Data:
1. Manufacturer's product data and installation instructions.
1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Deliver materials to site in factory-fabricated containers with labeling in place. Inspect for damage.
B. Store materials in original wrappings and protect from weather and construction traffic, dirt, water, chemical, and mechanical damage. Protect installed fixtures from damage by securing areas and leaving factory packaging in place to protect fixtures and prevent use.
1.8 FIELD MEASUREMENTS
A. Verify that field installation measurements are as indicated on shop drawings.
B. Confirm that millwork is constructed with adequate provision for the installation of countertop lavatories and sinks.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 CHARACTERISTICS
A. Provide new fixtures free from flaws and blemishes; with finished surfaces clear, smooth and bright.
B. Provide visible plumbing fittings, parts of brass fixtures and accessories which are heavily chrome plated.
C. Fixtures: Same type product of one (1) manufacturer; fittings of same type from one manufacturer.

2.2 WATER CLOSETS
A. WC-1:
1. Bowl: ANSI/ASME A112.19.2; white, vitreous china, floor mounted, flush valve type, elongated bowl, siphon jet flushing action, 1.6 G.P.F.(6.1LPF), 1 1/2 (38.1 mm) top spud.
A.D.A. compliant. Top of seat at 17 in. (431.8 mm) to 19 in. (482.6 mm) above finished floor:
a. Acceptable Products:
1) American Standard.
2) Eljer.
3) Kohler.
2. Flush Valve: ANSI/ASME A112-18.1; low consumption, exposed, chrome plated 1 in.
(25.4 mm) I.P.S. screwdriver stop-check valve, chemical resistant material, vacuum breaker, wall and spud flanges, 1.6 G.P.F. (6.1 LPF). Flush handle shall be located on the wide side of the toilet stall and shall be 12 in. (304.8 mm) maximum above bowl rim and operate with no greater that 5 lb force, in compliance with A.D.A. section 4.16.5 and
4.27.4. Contractor to verify equipment requirements and rough-in locations. Three (3) year warranty:
1) Delany.
2) Sloan.
3) Zurn.
3. Seat: White, extra heavy duty solid plastic, anti-microbial, elongated open-front, less cover, integral molded bumpers, external check and self-sustaining hinges, stainless steel hinge posts, with covers:
1) Bemis.
2) Beneke.
3) Olsonite.
2.3 LAVATORIES
A. LAV-1:
1. Bowl: ANSI/ASME A112.19.2; white, wall-mount, vitreous china, 4 in. (101.6 mm) high contoured backsplash, 20 in. (508 mm) x 18 in. (457.2 mm), faucet holes on 4 in. (101.6
mm) centers. Drilled for concealed arm carrier. Furnish support carrier bolted securely to floor. Top of basin rim to be a maximum of 34 in. (863.6 mm) above floor in compliance with A.D.A. section 4.19. Provide offset drain and tailpiece:

2) Eljer.
2. Faucet/Trim: ANSI/ASME A112.18.1;Single handle mixing faucet, chrome plated cast brass, conventional spout with aerator, washerless push-pull lever handle with supplies at 4 in. (101.6 mm) centers. Perforated drain grate. 0.5 G.P.M. (1.9L/min) in compliance with energy policy act of 1992 and ASME/ANSI standard A112.18.1M. Provide restrictive device and escutcheon plate as required:
1) Delta.
2) Kohler.
3) Eljer.
3. Traps: Chrome plated cast brass, offset drain, adjustable P-trap, swivel ell, 1-1/4 in.
(31.75 mm) inlet, 1-1/4 in. (31.75 mm) IPS outlet, ground swivel joint, complete with cleanout plug, and escutcheon:

4. Insulation System: Factory-fabricated fitting covers manufactured from high-impact, ultraviolet-resistant PVC; provide pre-molded fittings to completely cover tail-piece, P-trap, trap arm, hot and cold water supply stop valves and exposed supply tubing; include nylon fasteners for all fittings:
a. Install at all handicap accessible lavatories installed in this project.
b. Acceptable Manufacturers:
1) Truebro, Inc.: Handi Lav-Guard.

2.4 SINKS
A. SK-1:
1. Bowl: ANSI/ASME A112.19.3; single compartment, 22 in. (558.8 mm) x 19 in. (482.6
mm) O.D. x 5-1/2 in. (139.7 mm) deep, 18 gauge, Type 304 18-8 stainless steel, integral backsplash, connected overflow, 1-3/4 in. (44.5 mm) radius coved corners, 3-hole drilled, 4 in. (101.6 mm) centers, with wall mounting brackets. Top of basin rim at 31 in. (787.4
mm) above floor:

1) Elkay.

2. Trim: ANSI/ASME A112.18.1; chrome-plated brass with rigid gooseneck swing spout with 6 in. (152.4 mm) reach, 2.0-2.2 G.P.M. (7.6-8.3L/min.), aerator, 4 in. 101.6 mm) wrist blade handles, 4 in. (101.6 mm) centers, 1/2 in. (12.7 mm) I.P.S. inlets, replaceable ceramic cartridges, chrome plated angle stops and perforated drain grate:
1) Zurn.
2) American Standard.

3. Traps: 1 1/2 in. (38.1 mm) chrome plated cast brass P-trap with cleanout and plug; drain tubing to wall with escutcheon, all chrome plated.
4. Insulation System: Factory-fabricated fitting covers manufactured from high-impact, ultraviolet-resistant PVC; provide pre-molded fittings to completely cover tail-piece, P-trap, trap arm, hot and cold water supply stop valves and exposed supply tubing; include nylon fasteners for all fittings:
a. Install at all handicap accessible sinks installed in this project.

2.5 FIXTURE SUPPORTS
A. Provide supports for all wall hung plumbing fixtures as follows:
1. Water Closets: Wall Mounted Carrier: ANSI/ASME A112.6.1; adjustable cast iron frame, integral drain hub and vent, adjustable spud, lugs for floor and wall attachment, anchor foot and leveling device, threaded fixture studs with chrome plated nuts and washers.
2. Urinals: Wall Mounted Carrier: ANSI/ASME A112.6.1; cast iron and steel frame with tubular legs, lugs for floor and wall attachment, threaded fixture studs for fixture hanger, bearing studs.
3. Acceptable Manufacturers:
a. Watts.
b. Wade.
c. Zurn.
d. Josam.

B. Performance:
1. Support fixture independently of wall or partition.
2. Fully conceal in building construction.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 INSPECTION
A. Verify that walls and floor finishes are prepared and ready for installation of fixtures.
B. Verify that electric power is available and of the correct characteristics.
C. Confirm that millwork is constructed with adequate provision for the installation of counter top lavatories and sinks.
D. Inspect millwork shop drawings; confirm location and size of fixtures and openings before rough-in and installation.
E. Rough-in fixture piping connections in accordance with minimum sizes indicated in fixture rough-in schedule for particular fixtures.
F. Inspect roughed-in domestic water and waste piping systems to verify actual piping connection locations prior to fixture installation:
1. Inspect floors, bases and conditions under which fixture work will be accomplished.
2. Notify appropriate parties in writing of all unsatisfactory conditions.
3.2 INSTALLATION
A. Where specified or indicated on Drawings as handicapped, locate and mount all plumbing fixtures and systems and bath units at heights and locations in compliance with ANSI A117.1 and Illinois Accessibility Code, April 27, 1997.
B. Install in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
C. Install each fixture with trap, easily removable for servicing and cleaning.
D. Provide chrome plated supplies and stops, reducers, and escutcheons for each fixture. Provide all necessary mounting hardware for complete installation.
E. Install components level, plumb and in proper alignment with reference to adjacent walls.
F. Install and secure fixtures in place with wall carriers and bolts.
G. Seal fixtures to wall and floor surfaces with sealant, color to match fixture.
H. Solidly attach water closet carrier to floor with lag screws. Carriers shall not depend upon wall construction or piping to prevent fixture movement.

I. Install stop valves for water coolers within the cooler cabinet.
J. Provide additional support structure for service sink spout. Spout shall have capability of supporting a fill bucket.
K. Floor outlet fixtures shall be secured to the floor or floor flanges by screws or bolts of corrosion-resistant materials.
L. Install escutcheons at each wall, floor, and ceiling penetration in exposed finished locations and within cabinets and millwork. Use deep pattern escutcheons where required to conceal protruding pipe fittings.
3.3 INTERFACE WITH OTHER PRODUCTS: Review millwork shop drawings. Confirm location and size of fixtures and openings before rough-in and installation.
3.4 ADJUSTING
A. Adjust stops or valves for intended water flow rate to fixtures without splashing, noise, or overflow.
3.5 CLEANING
A. At completion, clean plumbing fixtures and equipment.
3.6 PROTECTION OF FINISHED WORK: Use of fixtures during construction is not permitted.
