Answer: No, examine the welds at all intervals indicated in the (Specification Section 33 52 90.00 20).
Radiographic examination is not able to provide indications for certain defects that some of the other required NDE methods can (and vice-versa).
Question 28: Will the Government find it acceptable to permit a certified employee of the contractor to perform the liquid penetrant examination of root passes and visual inspections of weld passes?

Answer: Hydrant 14 is located at the corner of the fuel farm access road and Hercules Blvd. The test data for this location is: Flow Rate: 954 GPM, Static Press: 80 PSI, Residual Press: 50 PSI. The next adjacent hydrant on the fuel farm access road is hydrant 15 which is across the street from the existing fuel tank. Both hydrants are fed from an 8" line. Hydrant 15 test data is as follows: Flow Rate: 920 GPM, Static Press: 70 PSI, Residual Press: 50 PSI.
Question 32: Paragraph 3.6.4.3 of Specification Section 33 56 13.13 states that no water from the hydrostatic testing shall be released into the sanitary or storm system without the expressed consent of the Contracting Officer.
