60. Question: Will a bid form be supplied via Addendum?
Answer: See Section 00010, Solicitation Contract Form, Line Items 0001 thru 0012 and Section
00010, Note #9. All line items in Section 00010 must be priced. Also, See Amendment 0002, Table 1 is also required be submitted.
61. Question: Section 083313 Paragraph 2.2B calls for 50K cycle springs. Generally, 50K springs are not available on counter doors due to the limited space in the counterbalance barrel. Are 20K springs acceptable?

62. Question: Section 083313 Paragraph 2.2I calls for push up operation, but then goes on to call for manufacturer's standard removable operating arm which would imply crank operation. Please advise if push up or crank operation is wanted

63. Question: Section 083313 Paragraph 2.8A calls for manual operator by manufacturer. Paragraph
2.8B calls for push up operation. Which is required?
Answer: See Amendment 0002. A push‐up operation is required on this size door.
64. Question: Section 083313 Paragraph 3.3A3 calls for activation of door by fire alarm system, but door is not shown as rated on door schedule. Please clarify.
Answer: See Amendment 0002. This is not a fire‐rated door.
65. Question: Section 083313 Paragraph 3.4C calls for adjustment of seals around perimeter, but no seals are specified in main body of spec. Are perimeter seals required?
Answer: 2.6.A calls for an adjustable, continuous compressible gasket of flexible vinyl, rubber, or neoprene as a cushion bumper. See Amendment 002 revised paragraph 3.4.C in Section 083313.
66. Question: Section 083323 Paragraph 2.3E calls for aluminum construction of ABI doors, but note for doors 133B and 133D on door schedule calls for galvanized construction. Which is required?
Answer: See Amendment 0002. Bid alternate overhead coiling doors are aluminum.
67. Question: Section 083323 Paragraph 2.3F calls for gaskets between slats which are not available on the specified product. Are they required on this project and, if so, who offers them?
Answer: See Amendment 0002
68. Question: Section 083323 Paragraphs 2.3G and H call for the bottom bar and guides to be galvanized and finished to match curtain. Unfortunately, a finish will not adhere to the type of galvanizing used on these components. Please address how we should deal with this conflict in the spec.
Answer: Bottom bars and guides are to be exposed galvanized. See Amendment 0002
69. Question: Section 083323 Paragraph 2.4E calls for the fire rated door to have an STC rating of 27 which is only available if door is insulated. Is fire rated door to be insulated?
Answer: See Amendment 0002
70. Question: Section 083323 Paragraph 2.4K calls for the fire door to have push up operation and then goes on to call for the manufacturer's standard removable operating arm which implies crank operation. Which is required?
Answer: Push up operation is required. See Amendment 0002.
71. Question: Section 083323 Paragraph 2.7A calls for both galvanized and stainless steel hoods. Are we to assume that the aluminum doors get galvanized hoods and the stainless steel doors get stainless hoods?
Answer: Yes. Stainless steel doors shall have stainless hoods; aluminum doors shall have galvanized hoods. See Amendment 0002.
72. Question: Section 083323 Paragraph 2.11A calls for manufacturer's manual door operator, but paragraph 2.11B calls for push up operation and paragraph 2.12 calls for electric operation.
Which is required?
Answer: Door 132E is a manual door and requires a push‐up operation, see Amendment 0002.
Other insulated overhead coiling doors as bid alternates are electrically operated and article
2.12 applies.
73. Question: Spec section 084113, Paragraph 2.2, subsection A – The YKK Impact door is Model
35H. This door is NOT a thermally broken door. The paragraph below (2.3/1/a) calls for the door to have thermal construction and this is not available from YKK in an impact resistant product.
Please clarify that the 35H door is an acceptable basis of design.

74. Question: Per the specification 8710 Finish Hardware Set #1 states that we are to supply cylinders and core and all other hardware is by the blast door supplier. The blast doors suppliers are stating that they are only supplying the hinges and that all other hardware is by others.
Please have the architect supply what products they want for this hardware set so that the
Doors, Frames, and Hardware supplier can provide a price.

75. Question: The FBO website indicates “This opportunity allows for electronic response. Click here to submit a response.” Does that mean our bid may be submitted through the FBO website?
Answer: This option was left on FBO as an error. Electronic bids are not allowed for this solicitation. The FBO notice has been corrected to remove this option.
76. Question: Specification 10 14 19 DIMENSIONAL LETTER SIGNAGE details Cast Aluminum
Dimensional Characters. Drawing D1 / A‐713 details 6” and 9” Aluminum Letters in an Arial font stating NORTH CAROLINA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD WILMINGTON READINESS CENTER. 9” Cast
Aluminum is NOT a standard product in Arial Font and would require Custom Casting at a
Premium Charge to Achieve. NOTES: Cast Aluminum Arial Standard Font Sizes included 4”, 6”, 8”, 10”, 12, etc. Helvetica Standard Font Sizes include 4”, 5”, 6”, 8”, 9”, 10”, 12”, etc. Please clarify if Premium Custom Cast 9” Arial Letters are Required, or if we could utilize an Alternate
Font or Size (ie. 6” & 9” Helvetica or utilize 6” & 10” Arial Letters)

77. Question: We need better clarification drawings for the following plumbing systems: There is no enlarged second floor restroom drawing for the domestic water to the second floor bathroom which only shows the waste and vent (pg p‐402 ), also the compressed air system is very vague and does not show where the 2” drops pipe to (pg’s P‐801 and p802), very unclear to estimate what is needed by this information only. The drawing for the air does not meet up with the detail for the air drops of that is what the 2” pipe does, the detail shows ½” cp drops 2.

78. Question: Request a detailed drawing or detail section of the air compressor (AC‐1 located in
158D General Purpose Training Bay)
Answer: See Amendment 0002
79. Question: On P‐010, the notes call out for a ESE‐2 (emergency shower), oil water separator and a grease trap however none of these equipment items are located in the schedule, are these items to be deleted or can we get more information on these equipment items.
Answer: These equipment items must be included in the associated ABI No.1 and ABI No. 2 as indicated on the drawing. See Amendment 0002
