About this file
This solicitation is for a design-build contract to remove and replace the West portion of the 388th/419th Fighter Wing F-35 Apron at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. The existing sunshade shelters and pavement, which is approximately 40 years old and has exceeded its design life, will be removed and replaced. The awarded contractor will be responsible for performing the complete design and construction documents for a new 15-inch thick Portland cement concrete pavement section incorporating a stabilized drainage layer and new subbase course material. In addition to replacing the parking apron and shoulders, the project includes dismantling and replacing 26 existing sunshade structures with appropriately sized structures, one at each parking position. The contractor will also remove and relocate one existing crew shack and provide one additional crew shack so that each parking row has a crew shack. Upon completion, the apron will be re-marked. The solicitation was issued by the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Sacramento.
