About this file
This is an Area of Interest (AoI) announcement under a Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) for innovative solutions to tank track disassembly processes.
The Army Contracting Command-Red River Army Depot (ACC-RRAD) seeks commercial solutions to automate and improve the manual, labor-intensive tank track disassembly process currently conducted at Red River Army Depot. The government receives used track sections (Code F) that must be disassembled for further processing and refurbishment to Code A status. Current operations involve manual handling of heavy, dirty, greasy steel components, operation of fatiguing mechanical tooling to separate track linkages, and manual part deburring to reclaim center guides and end connectors. The primary objective is to acquire a system capable of safely, efficiently, and reliably separating track links while removing bolts and wedges to separate end connectors and center guides. The ideal solution would disassemble all double pin track variants (T-150, T-154, T-107, T-142, and T-158), though T-107 and T-142 are the prime focus. Vendors are encouraged to propose alternative designs and modern commercial manufacturing practices that optimize operational efficiency, reduce maintenance and cost, or improve lifecycle performance, subject to prior government approval for design deviations. All selected companies must be registered in the System for Award Maintenance (sam.gov). Written solutions must be submitted via email to usarmy.rrad.acc.mbx.cso@army.mil by 5:00 P.M. CDT on September 3, 2026, with subject line "OIB SOLUTION." Questions should be directed to CSO AoI POC Jacob J. Horn (jacob.j.horn.civ@army.mil) or Contracting Officer Travis N. Peterson (travis.n.peterson2.civ@army.mil). The government is not obligated to issue an RFP, make an award, or reimburse development costs.

Federal Agency: Army Office: Army Contracting Command-Red River Army Depot (ACC-RRAD) AoI Title: Tank track disassembly process CSO AoI Number: W911RQ-26-S-C001-A014 AoI Release Date: 22 July 2026 Responses: See CSO W911RQ-26-S-C001 for Procedure Details
1. General Information
1.1 Introduction
This announcement is for innovative solutions for Tank track disassembly process Area of Interest (AoI) under the ACC-RRAD Commercial Solutions Opening W911RQ-26-S-C001.
Interested parties are highly encouraged to visit the Government Point of Entry (www.sam.gov) to review the ACC-RRAD CSO special posting in its entirety to obtain more information on the process for submission evaluation of the CSO AoI Responses.
Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is involved in the reclamation and refurbishment of heavy track that is used on multiple types of tracked military vehicles. As a part of this process, the Depot receives used track sections (Code F) that must be disassembled for further processing and built to a Code A status. This CSO AoI seeks to solicit solutions that meet the objectives detailed in Sections 1.2.
ACC-RRAD is not obligated to extend a request for proposal or make an award as a result of this CSO AoI; all awards are subject to the availability of funds and successful negotiations. This CSO AoI is not an authorization to begin performance, and in no way obligates the Government for any costs incurred by the Offeror associated with developing a Response. Prior to commencement of any activities associated with performance under this CSO AoI, the Government will issue a written directive or contractual document signed by the Contracting Officer with appropriate consideration established. ACC-RRAD reserves the right to modify the requirements of this CSO AoI.
The authority to issue this CSO AoI is derived from ACC-RRAD Commercial Solutions Opening W911RQ-26-S-C001, dated 01 OCT 2025. The CSO authority is DoD Class Deviation 2022-O0007.
1.2 Objective / Problem Statement
Currently, this disassembly and reclamation process is exceptionally manual, labor-intensive, and physically demanding. Workers are required to manually handle extremely heavy, dirty, and greasy steel components while operating fatiguing mechanical tooling to separate track linkages. Workers are also required to engage in a manual part deburring process to reclaim items such as center guides and end connectors. This heavy reliance on manual labor creates several critical challenges:
• Safety & Ergonomic Risks: High physical strain, heavy lifting hazards, and exposure to loud, demanding industrial equipment.
• Throughput Bottlenecks: Track processing speeds are constrained by the physical capabilities of the operators and the limits of manual hand tooling. The Government's objective is to dramatically reduce the physical labor burden and increase the safety and efficiency of this heavy industrial workflow.
The Red River Army Depot (RRAD) Rubber Products Branch is seeking innovative commercial solutions for the acquisition of Tank track disassembly process. The primary operational objective is to acquire a system capable of safely, efficiently, and reliably separating track links to be processed in rubber removal and the reclamation of metal components. The process is to remove bolts-wedges, separating the end connectors and center guides.
2.Performance & Technical Requirements Vendors are invited to propose systems that meet the functional outcomes of the disassembly process. The ideal process would be capable of disassembling all double pin track, T-150, T-154, T-107, T-142, and T-158.
However, the prime disassembly focus is the T-107 and T-142 track systems. The following are the different track variations:
T-107 T-142
T-150
T-154 T-158
3.Innovation and Design Flexibility The Government will provide engineering drawings as a baseline reference for the required general characteristics of the desired item. However, vendors are encouraged to propose alternative designs, modern commercial manufacturing practices, or deviations from these reference drawings that optimize operational efficiency, reduce maintenance, reduce cost, or improve the overall life-cycle of the press. Prior Government approval is required for final design deviations to ensure compatibility and for technical documentation purposes.
4.AoI Constraints
1.Any selected company/companies will be required to be registered in the System for Award Maintenance (sam.gov).
5.Submission Requirements
A written solution must be sent via e-mail submission by 5:00 P.M. (CDT) on 03 September 2026, with subject line stating OIB SOLUTION to usarmy.rrad.acc.mbx.cso@army.mil Solutions received after the specified due date and time will be discarded and not be evaluated by the Government. AoI Open Period – This AoI shall close at 5:00 P.M (CDT) 03 September 2026. Point of contact: AoI questions can be sent to: CSO AoI POC:
