3.1 Platform Lift Installation Capabilities

Considering the site preparation requirements, RRAD is seeking innovative, turn-key solutions to prepare the site for a new platform lift. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

• The removal of existing concrete at the designated installation site.

• Conducting subgrade and soil testing to determine if the ground conditions meet the manufacturer’s requirements for supporting the lift. The contractor is solely responsible for procuring a geotechnical subgrade evaluation The final soil report & capacity certification (min 3,000 lbs./sf) must be reviewed, verified, & incorporated into the foundation design by the contractor Texas-licensed professional engineer prior to submission to production engineering.

• Performing any necessary soil preparation based on the testing results to ensure a stable foundation.

• Pouring a new concrete foundation in strict accordance with the specifications detailed in the provided Rotary engineering drawings.

3.2 Foundation & Concrete Requirements

• Soil Bearing Capacity: The soil must have a confirmed bearing capacity of at least 3,000 lbs/sf.

• Concrete Strength: The concrete used for the foundation shall have a minimum compressive strength (f′c) of 4,000 psi and a maximum of 5,500 psi, utilizing heavy aggregate.

• Curing Time: The new concrete foundation must reach its 28-day strength of 4,000 psi before any anchor bolts are drilled and installed.

• Minimum Concrete Thickness: The foundation slab must have a minimum thickness of 6 inches.

• Reinforcement: All concrete reinforcement sizes and specifications shall be determined by the contractors Texas-licensed professional engineer based on site-specific soil conditions and detailed in the stamped structure plans & certified. As a minimum, Grade 60 deformed reinforcing bars must be used.

3.3 Anchorage Requirements

• Anchor Bolt Diameter: 1 inch.

• Number of Bolts: 4 per leg.

• Minimum Embedment Length: 4.5 inches into the concrete.

• Installation Torque: 185 ft-lbs.

• Static Inspection Torque: 110 ft-lbs.

3.4 General Scope of Work for Installers

• The installer is responsible for laying out lines for the lift placement and conduit trenches.

• Utilize ground-penetrating radar or other means to identify and avoid any underground utilities or obstructions.

• Saw-cut and remove existing concrete, controlling slurry runoff.

• Drill the existing slab for dowels, place rebar, and run conduits according to engineering drawings.

• Place and finish the new concrete slab to match the finish of the adjacent floor.

• Place the control console and make all necessary connections for a complete, operational unit.

Note: Any deviations from the requirements listed in the engineering drawings (PS Lif Spec.pdf) must be approved in writing by Red River prior to installation.

3.5 Field Verification

• The installer is responsible for FIELD verifying that the lift is the right dimensions before installment.

• All the measurements below are approximate, pulled from the drawing.

• Width: 32 inches/ 812.8 mm

• Length: 360 ¾ inches/9163.1 mm

• Depth: 16 3/4 inches/ 425.7 mm

4. Engineering Design Requirement Notice

4.1 Required Actions & Constraints

• No Demo: No structural demolition or site digging may start without written or email approved by production engineers and Red River Army Depot Engineers.

• Stamped Plans: All concrete structural plans and foundation designs must be signed and dated by a professional engineer (PE) licensed in the structural of Texas retained by the contractor these final stamped plans must be submitted to production engineering for review and written approval before work can commence.

• Load Ratings: Structural designs must explicitly meet the load bearing and soil reinforcement standards required by production engineering and RRAD. If geotechnical testing indazoles a soil bearing below 3,000 lbs./sf, the contractor must design a soil reinforcement and or a subgrade stabilization plan (approved by the contractor’s Texas licensed PE) to meet the manufactures installation specifications.
