1.1 This work item describes the requirements to replace CHT Tank wasted steel.

3.2 Item Description/Manufacturers Data

NOTES
5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, must consult the General Technical Requirements to determine applicability to this Work Item. In performance of this Work Item, the contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s.
5.2 The contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier are advised to review the other work items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this work item.
5.3 Accomplish the requirements of this Work Item in conjunction with the work described in Work Item 021, 110 and 112.
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None Additional.
7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED:
7.1 Perform the requirements of this work requirement following the removal of the coating system is complete (Work Item 110), and thickness measurements have identified areas of wasted steel. (Work Item 1111)
7.2 Gas Free requirements, Safe For Men, Safe for Hot work is provided by Work Item 021.
7.3 Provide fire watch services during all cutting, grinding and welding operations.
7.4 Provide fire protection coverings all equipment associated with CHT Tanks. Fire warp protection shall be inspected and approved by the MSCREP prior to commencement of all cutting, grinding and welding operations.
7.5 Crop out wasted steel identified for replacement by findings of thickness measurements obtained in Work Item 112. For bidding purposes, estimate two hundred square feet of steel will require removal.
7.6 Template replacement inserts to fit identified steel renewal.
7.7 Prepare inserts and fit up all inserts for inspection by ABS and MSCREP, prior to welding. All fit ups shall be callouts.
7.8 Weld inserts to achieve full penetration on both sides of insert. All weld repairs shall be final production weld inspected by ABS and the MSCREP.
7.9 Perform weld integrity testing to the satisfaction of the ABS Surveyor. IF the attending ABS surveyor requires an air test, the air test shall be performed prior to the application of any coating systems.
8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: None Additional.
