ABSTRACT
1.1 This work item describes the requirements to replace the overhead of the 02-395-0-Q, 02-415-0-Q and 02-423-0-Q shop(s).

NOTES
5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, must consult the General Technical Requirements to determine applicability to this Work Item. In performance of this Work Item, the contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s.
5.2 The contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier are advised to review the other work items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this work item.
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None Additional.
7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED:
7.1 Provide labor, rigging support, staging, tools, welding and cutting equipment to perform the requirements of this work specification.
7.2 Provide Gas Free Safe for Hot Work certification for the areas identified in Para 3.1. and surrounding areas necessary to perform cutting, grinding and welding.
7.3 Provide fire watch services during all cutting, grinding and welding operations.
7.4 Provide fire protection coverings all equipment located inside of the shops that are included in Para 3.1. Fire wrap protection shall be inspected and approved by the MSCREP prior to commencement of all cutting, grinding and welding operations.
7.5 Remove all underlying interferences including, but limited too, insulation, HVAC ductwork, cables required to remove the shop overheads in their entirety. See References 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4.
7.5.1 Submit a condition report of pre-existing condition of overhead insulation.
7.6 Crop overhead of shops listed in Para 3.1. See Reference 2.2 for dimensions. The three shops are contained within one structural enclosure.
7.6.1 Dispose of removed steel.
7.7 Provide a weatherproof temporary covering while sections of the overhead steel is removed. Rain and snow shall not leak into the space. The temporary covering shall be put in place at the end of each shift. Any flooding or weather caused damage to the internal shop equipment/tools shall be repaired/replaced at the contractor’s expense. Weather proof temporary covers shall be visibly marked at temporary and not suitable for transit.
7.8 Template replacement overhead plating to align with underlying structure. Original design camber shall be maintained.
7.9 Prepare overhead plating for fit up inspections by ABS and MSCREP, prior to welding. All fit ups shall be callouts.
7.10 Weld overhead plating achieve full penetration on both sides of plating. All welds shall be final production weld inspected by ABS and the MSCREP.
7.11 Perform weld integrity testing to the satisfaction of the ABS Surveyor.
7.12 Surface prep newly installed overhead plates on both sides.
7.13 Prime newly installed overhead plates on both sides. Surface preparations and paint application shall be performed to the satisfaction of the MSC Paint representative.
7.14 Paint overhead interior with PPG Interior Paint provided as GFM.
7.15 Paint overhead exterior with GFM provided non slip paint.
7.16 Maintain daily cleanliness of work site throughout the entire course of this work requirement.
7.17 Restore all interferences and insulation.
8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: None Additional.
