Each deployable uplift device will require a hard drive swap upon return. The notification process will require coordination between EUHW Vendor and the Network Manager (PWS section 3.2.6.f). | 12/7/18 |
| 25 | A.1 | PWS Table 3.2.2 Hardware Peripherals requires a Monitor w/ power cord: 22inch. The industry has adopted 21.5” over 22” display panels because panel suppliers optimize their cuts as they move to larger mother glass sizes to improve their glass utilization and reduce waste. Displays with panels ranging from 21.5” - 22” are referred to as 22” displays in the industry. Will the Government accept a range of 21.5” - 22” FHD displays to mirror what is accepted in the industry? | An amendment to the RFP will update PWS Table 3.2.2: Hardware Peripherals to clarify that the requirement is for a 22" class monitor. | 12/7/18 |
| 26 | Mid-Range Desktop: Graphics - |
Many professional applications are performance tuned for CUDA. For maximum performance CUDA Core technology is required.
| * In an effort to receive best possible performance and future proofing will the government add a requirement for Mid-Range Desktop Graphics to include a minimum threshold of 500 CUDA Cores? | The threshold requirement for graphics in the Mid-Range Desktop (in RFP Attachment 10, EUHW Device Specifications) remains unchanged. | 12/7/18 | |
| 27 | Mid-Range Desktop: Graphics - |
Most OEM manufacturers offer both professional and consumer class discrete gaming cards in their desktop portfolios. Consumer graphics gaming cards typically have extremely short lifecycles and lower reliability standards.
* In an effort for increased reliability will the government include requirements for “professional” discrete graphics cards only?
| * In an effort for continuity of configurations and lifecycle support will the government require professional GPUs to be available for a minimum of 3 years? | The threshold requirement for graphics in the Mid-Range Desktop (in RFP Attachment 10, EUHW Device Specifications) remains unchanged. | 12/7/18 | |
| 28 | EUHW Attch 10 EUHW Device Specifications REV4.1 - Common Requirements | All graphics outputs shall support 1920x1080 output or higher, including thin/zero clients. | |
| Common Requirements state that "All graphics outputs shall support 1920x1080 output or higher, including thin/zero clients." We need clarification on how this requirement should be interpreted for Laptops - is the government's intent that the actual inherent laptop screen resolution should be 1920x1080, or is the requirement stating that the Video Display Port outputs should support 1920x1080 via whatever port is chosen (i.e.: HDMI, VGA, DP, etc.)? | For business class portable devices, both the embedded screen and the output ports should meet or exceed the 1920x1080 threshold. | 12/7/18 | |
| 29 | EUHW Attch 10 EUHW Device Specifications REV4.1 - Common Requirements | CLIN 0001AE - Embedded or integrated full-duplex 10/100/1000 BASE-TX UTP NIC installed with RJ45 Network Connector (except for Rugged Tablet) | |
| Our research shows that there are no OEMs who are currently able to meet the requirement for an embedded NIC in a 2-in-1 Detachable device (i.e.: a tablet device with a keyboard). As such, we respectfully request the government allow an exemption for CLIN 0001AE as you did on CLIN 0001AD for Rugged Tablet for the embedded NIC requirement, or allow for the use of an adaptor to meet this requirement. | Attachment 10, EUHW Device Specifications, "Common HW REQs" tab, Common Requirement #2 directs offerors to consider the laptop-like configuration when reviewing the requirements and technical thresholds for the Rugged tablet devices. Currently available units can satisfy this requirement when considered in a laptop-like configuration. | 12/7/18 | |
| 30 | EUHW Attch 10 EUHW Device Specifications REV4.1 - Common Requirements | CLIN 0001AE - Embedded or integrated full-duplex 10/100/1000 BASE-TX UTP NIC installed with RJ45 Network Connector (except for Rugged Tablet). | |
| Given the industry emphasis on smaller, lightweight systems for portable devices, an embedded NIC is not an industry standard option for ultra- portable, lightweight devices such as 2-in-1 Detachable systems for CLIN 0001AE. In fact, the government's response eliminates any compliant bid options from any manufacturer. As such, we respectfully request the government allow an exemption for CLIN 0001AE as you did on CLIN 0001AD for Rugged Tablet for the embedded NIC requirement, or allow for the use of an adaptor to meet this requirement. | Attachment 10, EUHW Device Specifications, "Common HW REQs" tab, Common Requirement #2 directs offerors to consider the laptop-like configuration when reviewing the requirements and technical thresholds for the Rugged Tablet and 2-in-1 Detachable devices. Currently available units can satisfy this requirement when considered in a laptop-like configuration. | 12/7/18 |
