FCI is naturally suited for working with government agencies because of our people, history, process, and vision to unite people and cultures through language. We envision a world where cultural differences are celebrated and treasured, working as the glue that holds humankind together and the common ground on which communication is transferred. We strive to break language barriers and create the opportunity for culture sharing and touch globally, regardless of language or background. We value diversity, teamwork, cultural exchange, customer care, innovative solutions, growth, and high-quality results.
The art of translation is used for various purposes that span all industries worldwide. Commonly translated materials include literary works, legal documents, medical records, company forms, advertisements, letters, personal documents, and more. With over 6,000 existing languages ranging from living to dying—as well as the multiple statuses and levels of vitality in between—in combination with hundreds of dialects and variations, translation services are vital to enable effective, inclusive communication and understanding between people, countries, and cultures.
Our human-based translation services ensure authenticity and promise complete and comprehensive results. Not only do we enable words to be transferred from one language to another, but we also open the possibility for culture to be shared globally.
FCI is all about community; we were founded 20 years ago by Ellen Lifschutz, who immigrated to this county for a better opportunity for herself and her children. She struggled to learn English and, as she settled in her new home, saw the opportunity and need to support those whose native language differed from English. Today, FCI's leadership and team members are a representation of the inclusiveness of our county. Our executive leadership is composed exclusively of women who immigrated to the United States. Our Project Management team celebrates diversity and inclusion, with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ members in critical roles. Our people, more than anyone, understand the struggle and need for communication on a global level and are always eager to make a difference when it comes to breaking language barriers.

Translation and Transcription Workflow
Receipt of project request from client following security measures for file transfer through FCI's Translation Management Platform; client can upload text, audio/video files directly into the automated system, streamlining the process and allowing them the ability to have secure online access to all their projects and deliverables from any location and at any time.
The dedicated Project Manager (per project) will confirm receipt as well as the expected delivery date and time-based on the overall scope, volume, and state of the audio quality, aiming for delivery in 3 days as preferred; should it be deemed necessary, the Project Manager will split the work among multiple transcriptionists to best secure the requested timeline; client will be provided a unique reference/identification number.
Based on the scope of work and timeline, the Project Manager will select applicable transcriptionist(s) from our skilled and qualified talent pool to complete the assignment according to the guidelines and client preferences, including time stamps to serve as "time hacks" for easy navigation between written transcript(s) and the audio file(s).
Once the transcription is completed in full, a qualified Quality Assurance Specialist reviews each transcript against its corresponding original audio in full, editing the transcript(s) accordingly with a focus on the following:
•Completeness and accuracy of the work
· Typos and grammatical errors
· Transcription, speaker-tracking, and time stamp errors •All speakers are properly identified, and names are correct throughout •Guidelines based on SOW
· Proper layout, formats, pagination, and fonts were utilized.
· Accurate dates and times are reflected.
· There are no missing portions.
· If desired, final deliverable(s) are properly certified by the transcriptionist(s), including applicable signatures, dates, and names.
· The final deliverable(s) are client-ready, void of any distinctive markings or corrections such as tracked changes and other markups.
Once the work is completed, the Project Manager will submit the transcript(s) as MS Word files (to ensure they are editable) to the client through the same secure automated system utilized during intake. This will allow the client access to download the file(s) from any location securely and at any time, as well as give them the ability to edit via MS Word as needed.
