About this file
This is an Addendum #1 to Section 266301 specifications for an above-ground fuel tank system for Clay County Fire Station No. 24 in Green Cove Springs, Florida. The specification details the procurement and installation of a 500-gallon UL 2085 listed, secondary-contained, concrete-vaulted, double-walled rectangular steel tank manufactured by Phoenix Products LLC of Jacksonville, Florida. The tank package includes a 115V high-flow hand-held fuel dispenser (Fill-Rite FR700 Series) with meter, hose, and nozzle mounted on the sub-base tank, with hose length to be coordinated with the owner prior to ordering. The specification requires the tank to be provided with earthquake and hurricane restraint tie-downs, stainless steel overfill and equipment boxes, 304 Schedule 40 stainless steel threaded pipe outlets, and a sub-base tank-mounted leak detection system with microprocessor-based monitor and audible alarm. The contractor must supply 500 gallons of diesel fuel, obtain all necessary permits and service charges, and coordinate with local fire regulating authorities for installation review and approval. Testing requirements include air pressure testing of the primary tank at 3 PSI in accordance with UL 142 standards.
The tank includes a 30-year warranty covering concrete vaulting materials, primary tank, and secondary tank. The annular space between inner and outer walls must be filled with a minimum of six inches of concrete to provide a two-hour fire wall rating per the Uniform Building Code. The outer tank shall be sandblasted to white metal per SSPC-SP10 standards and painted with a high-build polyester glass flake coat (12 to 15 mils DFT) and an aliphatic polyurethane finish coat (3 to 5 mils DFT). All equipment must be new, current production from a national manufacturer with applicable UL listing. The subcontractor is responsible for obtaining all applicable permits, service charges, fees, and insurance required for work performance under this section, with specifications and drawings to be interpreted only by the project architect or engineer in cases of contradiction or ambiguity.
