About this file
This is a Consent of Surety to Final Payment document related to Contract 2025-00999 for the Canterbury Storm Sewer Replacement project between Montgomery Township, Pennsylvania and a contractor to be selected through competitive bidding. The project involves the removal and replacement of approximately 1,800 feet of corrugated metal pipe (CMP) ranging from 12 inches to 57 inches by 38 inches, construction of new circular HDPE pipe and elliptical RCP storm sewer on Canterbury Lane and Devonshire Drive, replacement of three precast concrete storm sewer structures, and restoration of concrete curb, sidewalk, driveway apron, and asphalt roadway. Sealed bids will be received online through the PennBid Program until 10:00 A.M. on September 1, 2026, with public opening and reading at Montgomery Township offices located at 1001 Stump Road, Montgomeryville, PA 18936. No pre-bid meeting will be held for this project. Bids may be withdrawn within two business days after opening.
Bid security in the amount of not less than ten percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid submission, payable to Montgomery Township. Each bid must include an Agreement of Surety certifying that required Performance and Payment Bonds will be provided upon award. PennBid assesses a nominal fee of 0.33 percent of the bid amount (minimum $150, maximum $6,000) to awarded bidders only. The project is subject to Pennsylvania Act 422 prevailing wage requirements and Act 127 public works employment verification provisions. The Consent of Surety document serves as formal authorization from the surety company indicating that all labor and material claims have been settled, thereby approving final payment to the contractor while maintaining the surety's ongoing obligations to the owner under the performance and payment bonds.
