Location:Hines VA Hospital in Hines, IL

Amendment 006 hereby incorporates the following clarifications/change(s) into the solicitation package:

I. Offerors shall disregard all alternates referenced on drawing GC101. The only alternate pricing is as detailed in the SF-1442 document, page 3 of 83.

II. A typo correction has been applied to SF-1442, Page 3 of 81. This solicitation includes ONE BASE line item and THREE ALTERNATE OFFERS. An updated document for this page is included as Amendment 6, Attachment 10.

III. Vendor Questions:

A. VENDOR QUESTIONS, submitted 6/23/2025:

A.1: Regarding Handrail panel Material/Finish for the Passenger Cars:

a. F+S EDS Design Specification/Rendering includes the Fused Nickel Silver Diamond Finish material.

b. The drawings reference, Stainless Steel, Satin Finish.

c. Please confirm which material you prefer. Screen shots referenced below.

VA REPLY: See Amendment 6, Attachment 1 - "578-25-003 Renovate Elevators in Building 200 - Finish and Lighting Changes" for changes to elevator cab finishes and lighting changes.

A.2 Regarding Ceiling Specification & Lighting Option:

a. F+S EDS Design Specification/Rendering includes the F+S, 6-Panel, Stainless Steel Ceiling, with Satin Finish and (6) LED Downlights and LED indirect perimeter accent lighting.

b. The drawings seem to reference a F+S, 6-Panel Stainless Steel Ceiling, with Satin Finish and LED perimeter lighting only.

VA REPLY: See Amendment 6, Attachment 1 - “578-25-003 Renovate Elevators in Building 200 - Finish and Lighting Changes” for changes to elevator cab finishes and lighting changes.

A.3 The Specification seems to reference a ceiling frame system (similar to what is existing) and conflicts with the drawings. Please confirm which lighting option you prefer.

VA REPLY: See Amendment 6, Attachment 1- “578-25-003 Renovate Elevators in Building 200 - Finish and Lighting Changes” for changes to elevator cab finishes and lighting changes.

C. VENDOR QUESTIONS, submitted 7/2/2025:

C.1 Please confirm that keynote #2 under Demo Plan Notes on drawings AD100-AD114 pertains to the entirety of the walls and not merely where it’s pointed.

VA REPLY: Confirmed. Keynote #2 is a typical note that applies to all walls in the construction areas. This comment also applies Notes #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5.

C.2 Please provide the elevational view drawings for Architectural set of drawings. There is a work involved with the walls as per drawings AD100-AD114 Demo Plan Notes #2 including the installation of new work indicated on AE100 – AE114.

VA REPLY: Typical elevator lobby elevation and detail provided as 1/AI202, 2/AI202 and 3/AI203. This elevation and associated details indicate the typical configuration for wall protection and the wall finish above wall protection, mounting heights for handrails, bump rails and accessory items, dimensions for terminating handrails and bump from adjacent architectural elements and specific finish treatments for new finishes or reuse of existing items as are indicated on finish plans. The finish plans and schedules indicate locations and finish type to be applied in each location.

C.3 Please provide the elevation view drawing and details for keynote #7 under Demo Plan Notes on drawings AD100. Keynote #7 is also present in drawings AD101-AD114 but there is no detail shown. Please confirm if it only pertains to drawing AD100.

VA REPLY: Keynote #7 only pertains to AD100. Wall is painted masonry with a fire damper. Demolition will require the full wall within the limits shown on the plan to be prepped for removal and removed in its entirety to accommodate new floor and wall construction indicated on AE/100.

C.4 Part of CLIN II states “construct a wall separating the passenger and service elevators”. Drawing GC102 shows the wall construction details but does not show a height. Please provide more details for the wall separating the passenger and service elevators.

VA REPLY: See Amendment 6, Attachment 2 - Supplemental Sketches for clarification of the placement of the wall (and Door #01A) referenced in this question. The height of the wall shall be constructed to allow for the gypsum board to terminate at least 6" above the ceiling line while also providing the appropriate framing and bracing to support the double egress door in an area of heavy usage and potential abuse from passing equipment and patients beds. This can be accomplished through continuous framing to structure, kickers, a box beam header or combination of framing and supports.

C.5 Drawings ED100.1-ED115 Keynotes #1 states that “Demolish Lighting Fixtures in Scope of Work.” Please confirm lighting fixtures are marked as “(D) which stands for Demolition”.

VA REPLY: Confirmed. Lighting fixtures to be demolished are marked with a (D) and bold dashed lines.
