About this opportunity

Sacramento County is seeking qualified contractors for the 2022 Neighborhood Traffic Management Program Projects, a comprehensive street improvement initiative focused on installing speed management devices across multiple county locations. The procurement involves constructing speed bumps, speed tables, and associated roadside signage at 24 different street locations within Sacramento County's five districts. Contractors must possess a valid California Class A General Engineering Contractor's license and be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations to participate. The project requires furnishing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to complete precise speed management infrastructure, including specific device installations such as 19 standard speed table installations, 12 speed tables with pedestrian paths, 5 speed tables with half pedestrian paths, 12 standard speed bump installations, and 148 roadside sign placements. Electronic bid submissions are required through the Sacramento County Electronic Bidding Portal by July 14, 2022, at 2:00 pm, with a pre-bid question submission deadline of July 7, 2022, at 4:00 pm. Bidders must provide a bid guarantee of at least 10% of the total bid amount, and the contract includes a sixty (60) working day completion timeline with potential liquidated damages of $3,200 per calendar day for project delays.

The contract does not explicitly specify set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises or minority-owned businesses. The estimated construction budget is $415,000.00, with contractors required to comply with prevailing wage regulations and provide performance and payment bonds. No incumbent vendors are mentioned in the documentation. The project specifications indicate that contractors will be responsible for comprehensive site preparation, traffic control, public notification, and adherence to strict guidelines for device height, placement, and roadway markings. While the contract does not list specific integration requirements with existing infrastructure, successful bidders must carefully follow the detailed installation specifications outlined in the bid documents. The project appears designed to enhance neighborhood traffic safety through strategic speed management interventions across Sacramento County, with specific technical requirements for device placement, signage, and pavement markings. Contractors should be prepared to demonstrate technical expertise in traffic management infrastructure installation and ability to work within precise county specifications.
