3. Information Requested: (Include Specification Section and/or Drawing Number and Page if inquiring about a discrepancy)
In specification section 086045/2.5.2/c: Grid Size is listed as 12” x 24”. However, drawing
A‐201 and A‐602 show a nominal grid of 24”x 12”. Which grid is to be used?
On drawing A‐602, the W5 panel is called out as 14’‐4” long. The center section is drawn differently from the ends. What is this center section and how long is it?
In specification section 086045 it calls for U‐factor of 0.14 and Solar heat gain coefficient of
0.16 (2.5.3) with light transmission of 9% (2.5.2/a) with condensation index rating of 80
(2.5.4). All of this is achievable with a thermally‐broken grid core. However, in 2.3.2 it calls for a Non combustible grid core, which would require an aluminum grid core. If thermally‐ broken, all above are accurate. If aluminum grid core is required solar heat gain number, U‐factor and condensation factors are affected. Should the panels have a thermally‐ broken or aluminum grid core?
In specification section 086045/1.6 is calls out for the warranty to include a manufacturer’s warranty for installation. As manufacturer is a material supplier workmanship and installation would not be covered in the ten year warranty covering items 1.6/a.b.c. and d.
Is this acceptable?
In specification section 086045/2.6/j it calls out for exposed aluminum to be from manufacturer’s standard range, which would involve a selection from 13 standard colors with a finish per AAMA 2604. Is this acceptable?
In specification section 086045/l – Design Criteria it discusses Blast Loads. As drawing S‐001 calls out for the building to be a low occupancy building, would the panels not be exempt from UFC4‐010‐01 min. standards? If not exempt, please provide charge weight and stand‐ off distance.
