Bolted steel tanks are acceptable.

2. Reference the Sprinkler system and High Expansion Foam system protecting the Hangar Bay.

2a) Will the sprinkler system piping and heads in this area be exposed below the ceiling of the Hangar Bay or should the piping be installed above the ceiling and utilize pendent sprinklers installed into the Hangar Bay ceiling?

2b) Will the horizontal piping located in the Hangar Bay which supplies the High Expansion Foam Generators be required to be installed above the ceiling of the Hangar Bay ?

2a) All piping to be above ceiling/in truss space as shown on sheet FX301. Keyed note 1 on drawings AC111 and AC112 indicates that ceiling system is to be removed for above ceiling work.

2b) All piping to be above ceiling. Piping and generators are to be seismically braced. See structural drawings for hanging details of HEF Generator.

3. Reference the specification section 213000. This section mentions both Metal Wall panels and Precast Wall Panels for the Pre-Fabricated Fire Pump Building. Which type of Wall Panel will be required for the Pre-Fabricated Fire Pump Building?

Metal Wall Panels.

4. Reference the Fire Water Storage Tanks. Throughout the Bid Documents the storage capacity of the Fire Water Storage Tanks that is mentioned varies from 51,000, 55,000, 55,936 gallons. What is the correct usable gallons capacity for the Fire Water Storage Tanks ?

The project will require 2 tanks each with 55,936 usable gallons.

5. Will the Altitude valve for the Fire Water Storage Tanks be Hydraulic or Electric with Float? Please provide model # of basis of design.

Provide mechanically activated float valve. Typically use Cla-Valve as basis of design. Means, methods and materials will be up to the contractor. Tanks levels will be monitored by Fire Alarm system. Coordinate final design with tank manufacturer.
