1. found something in the Spec that says the company has to be licensed in Ohio, but what about each technician? Do they need to be licensed as well?
No spec section is referenced. The company and the registered Professional Engineer shall be licensed in the state of Ohio. NICET is a national certification.
2. If I understand correctly the hydrants will be supplied by the existing underground water supply. With that being said is the Hose Stream Allowance being added to the Ground Storage Tank size?
Usable gallons for storage tanks is 55,936 gallons in the design narrative.
3. For Hydraulic Calculation purposes we would not need to include the 500 gpm hose stream. Correct?
If there are no hydrants off of the supply and no interior hose stations, the calculations will not be required to include the hose flows.
4. Spec Section 21 13 13.00.10 Paragraph 1.4.1 Fire Protection Specialists need to be onsite during the installation of the Fire System. Would this apply to Fire Alarm?
Section 28 31 76 requires the services and review of a qualified engineer for design services. The Supervisor is required to be a NICET IV Fire Alarm Technician and shall supervise the installation of the system. Technician shall have a minimum of 4 years of experience and be factory trained. Testing is required to be performed by a factory trained NICET IV technician. For full requirements of the fire alarm qualifications, see spec section 28 31 76 section 1.7.1
