About this file
This solicitation is for the construction of a Low Observable Component Repair Facility to support additional F-22A aircraft relocated to Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. The facility will include three corrosion control hangar bays, one wash rack bay, shops, administration spaces, restrooms, and building systems support totaling 6,735 square meters. Construction will provide a compacted fill foundation, concrete slab, structural steel frame, concrete masonry unit facade, and standing seam metal roof. Each hangar bay will include appropriate air filtration systems. Utilities, site improvements, pavements, security features, and supporting work will be provided to create a complete and usable facility. The facility must withstand seismic and wind code requirements and be designed as permanent construction. Sustainable practices will be integrated according to Department of Defense standards. The project will comply with anti-terrorism requirements and accommodate 300 tons of air conditioning. The expected construction duration is 730 calendar days. The soliciting agency is the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Norfolk.
