Section1.5.5 under Movement Controls Page 3 of the attached Mobile system Specs states-Movement controls shall comply with ABA requirements with mechanical assistance managing control for movement of multiple units simultaneously by a single operator able to create diverse aisle openings. "Controls at both accessible ends of the ranges permit user flexible".
That last statement about controls at "both accessible ends" sound like they are asking for dual access, or entry from either end of the system, however the Architectural design layout drawings attached (for rooms 137 and 106) does not permit dual access, since both systems back up to a wall. To comply with dual control would necessitate access from both the front and back of the system and take up much more floorspace within the room that is not available, we ask that this statement be better clarified, or stricken entirely to state requires access from only end of system ,if that is the design intent.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
Delete sentence "Controls at both accessible ends of the ranges permit user flexible, easy access to items within compact shelving." Provide access from one end of the system per architectural drawings. Technical amendment will be issued.

Please reference drawing S-301 section A1 at column lines "D to E" shows what appears to be a structural member above the trolley beam. The framing plans for that area on drawings SF111A & SF111D do not show this member.
If this is a new member then size and spacing will be required. Please advise if this will be provided in a future Amendment. Also drawings SF111 thru SF111D, S-301 & S-514 show the plan locations and details for the trolley beams. Please advise if the trolley beams will be provided by the trolley anchor manufacturer or is it to be provided by the steel fabricator.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
There is no member intended directly above the trolley beam. The only members that sit on top of the truss bottom chord as depicted are foam generator support beams, as shown in the S-111 series drawings (detailed on S-205).
Trolley beams are wide flange beams per the low roof framing plans, so are likely a steel fabricator item. However, who procures the trolley beam is up to the contractor and their vendor(s).

Please advise.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE

Please advise if Zone 1 is intended to have an airtight exterior envelope and whether or not fluid applied air barrier is required at the exterior walls for Zone 1 (hangar) or just at the interior walls separating Zone 1 to Zone 2 and from Zone 1 to Zone 3. It is unclear whether fluid applied air barrier is required behind the insulated metal panels and hanger doors as most IMP details do not have air barrier explicitly called out, but it is shown in the brick veneer/CMU wall assembly at the hangar door pocket towers per A8/A-313 and D5/A-504. Please advise if fluid applied air barrier will be required at the brick veneer/CMU wall assembly at the hangers, behind the insulated metal panels and the 6 Bay Bi-Parting Doors at the hangers.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
Zone 1 is intended to have an airtight exterior envelope. Fluid-applied air & vapor barrier is required on all exterior CMU walls and on CMU walls in between zones. Fluid-applied is not required behind Insulated Metal Panels since IMPs act as an air barrier.

In regard to UFC-4-010-01 (ATFP Requirements), currently the code compliance drawings sheet G-006 indicates implementation of ATFP requirements would not be applicable to the project given the building is located within the Base Secure Boundary and a 33' unobstructed space is provided. However on Architectural sheets A-201, A-202 and A-203 and within specification section 08 45 23-1.1 the ATFP blast requirements are indicated for the translucent panels within the Hangar Doors. In addition sheet AS-501 indicates the secured screen enclosure at the mechanical yard shall be ATFP compliant.
