4,2014; Replace pages 01 50 00-1 and 01 50 00-4 of the Specifications; and replace pages

18, 19, and 20 of the drawings. See following Page(s)

Except as provided herein, all terms and conditions of the document referenced in Item 9 A or 10A, as heretofore changed, remains unchanged and in full force and effect .

a. Correct the Notice Information, posted on Jun 4, 2014, Change:

The work associated with the contract will be completed no later than 495 calendar days after the Notice To Proceed.

TO:

The work associated with the contract will be completed no later than 645 calendar days after the Notice To Proceed.

b. Specification Section 01 50 00, Temporary Facilities and Controls:

(1) Paragraph 1.4B titled Water Service is DELETED in its entirety

(2) Paragraph 1.4C titled Electric Power Service is DELETED in its entirety

(3) Paragraph 3.2 Temporary Utility Installation line (D) is changed:

Potable water is available on site. Make connections to existing facilities as needed. Facilities must be cleaned and maintained in a condition acceptable to the NPS. At Substantial Completion, restore these facilities to condition existing before initial use.

TO:

Potable water is not available on site. Furnish cool, potable water for construction personnel in locations convenient to work stations.

(4) Paragraph 3.2 Temporary Utility Installation line (F) titled Electric Power Service is changed:

Electric Power Service: Use of existing electric power service will be permitted, as long as equipment is maintained in a condition acceptable to the NPS.

TO:

Electric Power Service: Provide electric power service and distribution system of sufficient size capacity, and power characteristics required for construction operations.

1. Install electric power service overhead unless otherwise indicated.

c. Included are replacement pages (01 50 00-1 and 01 50 00-4) which, reflect the specification changes.

d. Drawings, pages 18, 19, & 20 are replaced with 18A, 19A and 20A which, are attached.

031814 TEMPORARY FACILITIES AND CONTROLS

SECTION 01 50 00 - TEMPORARY FACILITIES AND CONTROLS

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 SUMMARY

A. This Section includes requirements for temporary utilities, support facilities, and security and protection facilities.

1.2 DEFINITIONS

A. Permanent Enclosure: As determined by Contracting Officer, permanent or temporary roofing is complete, insulated, and weather tight; exterior walls are insulated and weather tight; and all openings are closed with permanent construction or substantial temporary closures.

1.3 REFERENCES

A. MoDOT Standard Specification.

B. Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), latest edition.

C. Memorandum dated 17 April 2014 outlining additional accessibility requirements for Temporary Traffic Control Plans.

1.4 USE CHARGES

A. General: Cost or use charges for temporary facilities shall be included in the Contract Sum as required.

B. Water Service: Water from existing water system is available for use without metering and without payment of use charges. Provide connections and extensions of temporary services as required for construction operations.

C. Electric Power Service: Electric power from existing system is available for use without metering and without payment of use charges. Provide connections and extensions of temporary services as required for construction operations.

1.5 ACTION SUBMITTALS

A. Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) Zone Plan

1. Plan shall be submitted to MoDOT and Contracting Officer for approval.

connection and costs associated with the internet service provider through the warranty period of this contract. Upon completion of the warranty period the service shall be transferable to the Government at which time all future costs for the connection will no longer be the responsibility of the Contractor.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 INSTALLATION, GENERAL

A. Locate facilities where they will serve Project adequately and result in minimum interference with performance of the Work. Relocate and modify facilities as required by progress of the Work.

1. Locate facilities to limit site disturbance and as directed by the Contracting Officer.

B. Provide each facility ready for use when needed to avoid delay. Do not remove until facilities are no longer needed or are replaced by authorized use of completed permanent facilities.

3.2 TEMPORARY UTILITY INSTALLATION

A. General: Install temporary service or connect to existing service.

1. Arrange with utility company, NPS, and existing users for time when service can be interrupted, if necessary, to make connections for temporary services.

B. Storm Sewers and Drainage: Provide temporary utilities to remove effluent lawfully.

1. Connect temporary sewers to municipal system as directed by authorities having jurisdiction.

C. Non-potable water for construction is not available within the park boundaries. The Contractor shall furnish non-potable water from a source outside the park boundary.

D. Potable water is available on site. Make connections to existing facilities as needed. Facilities must be cleaned and maintained in a condition acceptable to the NPS. At Substantial Completion, restore these facilities to condition existing before initial use. Potable water is not available on site. Furnish cool, potable water for construction personnel in locations convenient to work stations.

E. Sanitary Facilities:

1. Toilets: Use of existing toilet facilities will not be permitted.

F. Electric Power Service: Use of existing electric power service will be permitted, as long as equipment is maintained in a condition acceptable to the NPS. Provide electric power and distribution system of sufficient size, capacity, and power characteristics required for construction operations

1. When temporary connections are removed, restore existing utility services to their original condition. Install electric power service overhead unless otherwise indicated.

G. Lighting: Provide temporary lighting with local switching that provides adequate illumination for construction operations, observations, inspections, and traffic conditions.
