About this file
This document outlines requirements for inspection and maintenance of the marine growth protection system in multiple sea chests aboard the USNS Arctic. The contractor will inspect the Cathelco anode system prior to drydocking to assess condition and estimate remaining anode life. In drydock, the contractor will visually inspect each anode, replacing any with less than two and a half years of remaining life. The contractor will also tag-out and protect the system, then inspect and test it before undocking. Post-undocking, the contractor will energize the anodes and verify proper operation, providing a report to the Military Sealift Command. The solicitation number provided is N3220521R4207 for the USNS Arctic's regular overhaul and drydocking scheduled for January 2022, to be awarded by the Department of the Navy's Military Sealift Command.
