About this file
This is a structured cabling design drawing for Swartz Creek Community Schools' Swartz Creek Middle School, created by Convergent Technology Partners in December 2024/January 2025. The drawing shows a floor plan layout for Unit A of the middle school building with detailed specifications for Category 6A UTP cable installations. The plan includes locations for wall and ceiling UTP locations, telecom cabinets, telecom bus-bars, and firesafe cabinets throughout various rooms including classrooms, offices, band room, practice rooms, kitchen areas, and cafeteria.
The technical specifications require all UTP cable to meet ANSI/TIA Category 6A standards, with wall locations to be installed in surface-mounted single-gang back boxes with white two-port faceplates. The installation includes specific requirements for cable concealment in contractor-provided raceways below ceiling, service loops for ceiling locations, white 8P/8C (RJ45) jack terminations, and grounding for all cabinets. The drawing provides detailed general notes for installation standards, including placement instructions relative to whiteboards and standard mounting heights.
