Attachment 25, Section J.25 – Utility Measurement Requirements [GFI]

Section C: Performance Work Statement, details the requirements for the installation of all utility connections, including electric, water, and sewer connections for MHU/PM/TT. As part of basic site preparation, the Contractor shall locate, expose, and connect electric, water, and sewer connections so that they can be hooked up to the unit after the unit is installed. The requirements for connections, as well as requirements for receiving approval for any modifications, are located in the following parts of Section C: Performance Work Statement:

C.4.2.6 Electric Connections for all MHUs

C.4.2.7 Additional Electric Requirements for Park Models and MHUs

C.4.2.8 Additional Electric Requirements for TTs

C.4.2.9 Water Connection Requirements for all MHUs

C.4.2.9.1 Additional Water Connection Requirements for Manufactured

Homes and Park Models

C.4.2.9.2 Specific Water Connection Requirements of Travel Trailers

C.4.2.10 Sewer Line Installation

C.4.2.10.1 Additional Sewer Line Installation Requirements

The following figures graphically represent how utility lines will be measured. Each measurement should be made in a straight line. All utilities will be measured from the connection point of the MHU to the utility tap. The length of utility runs included in the basic installation is shown in the table below. Vertical runs of utilities are included as part of the basic installation and are not included in measuring utility runs.

Type of site Length of utilities Private Site <= 50 linear feet Existing Commercial Park/ Commercial Park Expansion/Group Site

<= 25 linear feet

Per Section C: PWS, any additional length necessary to connect the MHU to a utility connection shall be noted on the site inspection report and must receive approval from the CO/COR or designated personnel prior to installation.

Measuring Utilities:: Exceeding the Bbaseline Ddistance

For Figures B.1 and B.2: The invoicing is different because the allowed baseline distance (50LF for private site, and 25LF for existing commercial park/ commercial park expansion/group site) is exceeded requiring an additional cost for the LF above the allowed limit.

For Figure B.1, B.2 and B.3: The utility measurements remain the same; however, invoicing is different because the allowed Linear Feet for private site is 50LF, existing commercial park is 25LF, and commercial park expansion/group Site is 10LF.

Commercial Park Expansion and Group Site Figure (B.3) is a graphical representation showing the distance between the electrical connection on the MHU and connection to the power source, the water connection on the MHU and connection to the water source/tap, and the sewer connection on the MHU to the municipal sewer/septic system. This graphical representation shows MHU utility connection measurements.

The electric connection shown as “E” on the MHU to the electrical connection, shown as “EG” at the power source measures thirty linear feet (30LF), which is not within the ten linear feet (10LF) of electric run included in the basic installation requirement. In order to be compensated for the additional twenty linear feet (20LF) of water line, the COR must approve the additional utility run prior to commencing the installation. Note: Water line installation is measured from the connection point of the MHU to the water connection for each MHU. Vertical runs of utilities are included as part of the basic installation and are not included in measuring utility runs.

The water connection shown as “W” on the MHU and connection to the water source/tap, shown as “WS” measures fifty five linear feet (55LF), which is not within the ten linear feet (10LF) of water run included in the basic installation requirement. In order to be compensated for the additional forty five linear feet (45LF) of water line, the COR must approve the additional utility run prior to commencing the installation. Note: Water line installation is measured from the connection point of the MHU to the water connection for each MHU. Vertical runs of utilities are included as part of the basic installation and are not included in measuring utility runs.

The sewer connection shown as “S” on the MHU and connection to the municipal sewer/septic connection, shown as “SC” measures twenty two linear feet (22LF), which is not within with the ten linear feet (10LF) of sewer run included in the basic installation requirement.

Measuring Utilities: Vertical Distance

Examples shown in Figures C.1, and C.2 and C.3 are to illustrate that vertical distances will not be measured.

Figure C.1 is a graphical representation showing the distance between the electric connections on the MHU to the public grid. This graphical representation shows MHU utility connection measurements that comply with the fifty linear feet (50LF) allowed under basic installation for Private site incurring no additional cost for installation.

igure C.1 is a graphical representation showing the distance between the electric connections on the MHU to the public grid. This graphical representation shows MHU utility connectionNote:

Electric line installation is measured from connection point of the MHU closest to the electrical connection for each MHU. Additionally, total vertical length (distance from the bottom of the MHU to ground + distance to horizontal utility run) is NOT measured when calculating installed length.

Same applies for Sewer and Water Line.
