About this file

This document is a Data Item Description (DID) for a Counterfeit Prevention Plan. The plan outlines the contractor's processes and procedures to prevent the introduction of counterfeit parts into the supply chain. Key elements include: procurement practices to obtain parts from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) or authorized distributors, monitoring and testing procedures to identify potential counterfeit parts, training for receiving inspectors, processes to verify, store, and report counterfeit parts, and requirements to flow down similar counterfeit prevention measures to subcontractors. The plan is designed to be updated as new counterfeiting methods emerge. The DID is referenced in the attached federal contract opportunity to repair an altimeter encoder for the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center.
