About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is seeking to procure F100-220 Core Module and F100-220 High Pressure Turbine Module components through a one-time Air Force spares acquisition for remanufacturing purposes. These core modules produce hot, high-pressure gases to rotate the rear compressor and fan drive turbines, providing thrust for F100-220/220E engines used in military aircraft. Potential contractors must be pre-qualified as approved sources in accordance with FAR 52.209-1 qualification requirements before being considered for contract award, with Source Approval Requests (SARs) encouraged to be submitted as soon as possible through DoD SAFE. The estimated solicitation issue date is September 15, 2025, with responses due by October 15, 2025, and contractors interested in proposing commercial item alternatives have until 15 days after this pre-solicitation notice to identify their capabilities. The acquisition will utilize electronic procedures exclusively, with the solicitation available only through www.sam.gov, and includes comprehensive data reporting requirements covering production surge planning, supply chain risk management, and counterfeit prevention measures.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is subject to fund availability under FAR 52.232-18, meaning no legal government obligation exists until funds are appropriated and made available. The acquisition encompasses 11 individual units of NSN 2840015361795NZ (F100-229 Core Module components), plus one lot each of NSN 2840OAH2500C7NZ and NSN 2840DTH250152NZ, with all items destined for Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. Each core module measures 1,020 inches in length, 610 inches in width, 660 inches in height, and weighs 3,096 pounds, with early delivery acceptable for all contract line items. The procurement includes Unique Identification (UID) requirements for any unit prices exceeding $5,000, and contractors must demonstrate surge production capabilities potentially allowing up to 20% quantity increases with accelerated delivery schedules. The contract will require extensive monthly reporting on production status, government property inventory, supply chain risk management, and comprehensive engine management system data entry for all serially tracked components.
