Information provided via answers to these questions in this amendment shall not qualify the terms and conditions of the solicitations and specifications. Terms of the solicitation and specifications remain unchanged unless specifically amended in the solicitation. Any disparity between the answers to the questions and the changes to the terms of the solicitation and specifications of the solicitation will go in favor of the actual solicitation, not answers to questions. If an amendment is issued, normal procedures relating to the acknowledgement and receipt of solicitation amendments shall apply.
1. Please provide a more recent site plan than the 1958 asbuilts included in the RFP. – More recent site plans are not available.
2. Is there an existing stormwater permit for the site? – Contractor is normally required to request all permits, however since this is a sample project, assume no storm water permit is required. There is no existing permit.
3. In the MACC Provisions section 5.a.2 Autocad 2005 or earlier is required, however in the Minimal submittal requirements in the Sample Project document Autocad 2009 or later is required. Please clarify the digital file requirements. – AutoCAD V2013 or later format per revised SOW.
4. Please confirm that the existing landscaping and parking at the existing building are not required to be brought into compliance with current ATFP standards for the purpose of the design submittal. – Since this is a less than 50% replacement value of the building, UFC 3-400-01 does not require ATFP parking lot updates, however landscaping around the addition only is required.
5. Please confirm that the windows for the expansion are not required to be stained glass. - Correct
6. Would wooden roof trusses be acceptable for the addition? This would be a cost reduction over the prefabricated metal trusses. – No structural wood construction is allowed.
7. Also, I wanted to check the status of the CAD files of the title block and location cover page that we requested on 27 August. When can expect to receive those? -
These files were posted with amendment 5.
8. The current Statement of Work , dated 8/21/13, requires the contractor to provide As-Built Drawings as part of the 100% submission. Please confirm that this is required, since the building is not being constructed during the Proposal stage? If it is required, please elaborate on how this should be completed? – See revised SOW.
9. Are accordion doors acceptable a dividing partitions for the classrooms? - No
10. -How does the existing electrical service enter the building (underground or overhead)? Is it in the way of the addition? – Overhead, no
11. -What is the size of the service transformer? – Service transformer shall be assumed to be adequate for the additional load.
12. -What is the size of the existing electrical service conduit and conductors? – Contractor shall install a new service to the new addition and meet NEC.
13. -What is the ampacity rating of the main panel? – Contractor shall not use the main panel for service to the addition.
14. -What is the main breaker ampacity/is there a main breaker? – Q 13
15. -What is the brand and model series of the main panel? – Q 13
16. -Are there any spare breakers, and what are their ampacities (RFP wants 225A feed to the addition)? – No, contractor shall install new service to the addition and meet NEC.
17. -Are there any available bussed spaces for breakers to be added? - No
18. -What is the actual peak demand load on the existing service (available from the power company or base DPW)? – Q 13
19. -Will it be practical/feasible to route a 225A feeder from the existing service to the addition? Through the building or outside? – Q 13
20. -Various pictures of the main panel, the room it's in, exterior entrance path, transformer, route(s) to get the feeder to the addition would be helpful also. – Q 13
21. -What are the sizes of the existing phone and data service cables (number of copper pairs and/or fiberoptic strands)? – Assume adequate existing copper and fiber data service capacity is available.
22. -Is there room left in the cabling racks and patch panels for connection? – Assume yes.
23. -What is the brand and model of the existing fire alarm panel? – Fire-Lite MS-4
24. -Is it addressable or hardwired? - Hardwired
25. -Does it have mass notification built into it also? – No
26. Contours shown on attachment 11, drawing 16-06-055 are different than the contours shown in amendment 4 attachment 20. Which of these should we assume to use? – amendment 4 attachment 20
